Red team is deft with their timing on a issue that has been a problem for quite a while.

    Discuss please.
I got some police friends who vary widely on their views which surprised me.
What did not surprise me is the few with college degrees are pissed at a few of their "brothers"

The two with college degrees said they had "buddies" who were so horrible at filling out reports the DA office had to drop cases, some significant crimes. Said they need to be paid more, but held accountable. An indication there are a significant number of incompetent goofballs. And that the Police Union is hiding under the guise of "please dont defund the union leader jobs". Also said the Police Chief must be able to make decisions on the bad cops, the union has stacked the advisory board on discipline and bad cops are getting away some significant THEY do not want to be associated with. But these guys are relatively new to the police force.
Some of the older guys said they fear they can get sued by any citizen for any action if their Union is put under control and not allowed to fund many of the city council members.

Apparently their Union is duty bound to protect them from prosecution and has done a very good job.
Yet the yard signs are abundant in my neck of the woods. "dont defund the police, vote against proposition B"
So proposition B is supposed to defund the police, yet I have not seen anything about defunding in the proposition?

Apparently the majority of the police believe more police have been unfairly prosecuted.
You do see police at the voting stations with their booth telling citizens to help them and their Union.
I have not seen any police at voting stations saying vote for it, we need to clean up a mess. (like was indicated by some of the officers and of course our Chief of Police)

They did this in Minneapolis too.

I expect to hear something from Boots on this.
He has got to have his ears up, this is not a new battle between SA and the police union.

They were smart to call this "defunding the police" instead of the reality of "fire the bad ones".

What about when they are actually protecting and serving - saving lives. Still useless then?

Im feeling like the no vote on this wins and the police union will still basically be responsible for any bad cop problems.
And they wont do , and the Union heads will make lots of money keeping police safe with scare tactics.

This Union carries a lot of weight with getting the right City Council members elected.

New Poll has vote no on Prop B winning.

SA will never change this ridiculous Police Union protecting bad cops.
Its a flppn tough job but if you stay off the streets its got to be one of the most lucrative pension plan of any city employee as well.
This Union has SA by the balls and continues to crush us. If teachers and nurses made these kind of deals this city would have a HUGE debt.

Got to hand it to the red team. They jumped on the defunding claim for the proposition and it has worked.
The fiscal conservatives and protect people types gonna get the whomp.

"defund the police" is phrase coining to enrage (white) cop lovers.

Which municipality is "defunding the police" ? total? partial? how much?

I think Minneapolis cut police budge by 1% and the cops went on strike, knowing they are untouchable.

There are a ton of good cops in SA.
But they wont take a step against their union because they know its bad form.
There are cops that cant even write a decent report so that the DA has to throw prosecutions out. They ask the cops that can write to help write it up. We need to pay them MORE on the job but require much better applicants. They know they have blithering idiots working next to them.

I have yet to see a sign that effectively puts this issue up correctly.
Great work by the red team to bend the knee to the Police Union.
People actually believe voting for Prop B means their house will be vulnerable to attack.

Uneducated democracy gets you this. And Trump. And totally fake candidates from both teams.

Police are even worse at preventing crime than they are at solving it, tbh.

If they cant even write up a report properly and the DA has to let people walk...
It looks like the job requires more than being a veteran. Peace officers? The thing is a lot of other cops get a bad rap for this and a number are clearly not fine with it. When the YES votes come in it will likely be close but the Union is gonna win this vote again. How do the police feel when half the voting public says you need to do your jobs better when it is one of the toughest jobs in government in big cities. The divorce rate and suicide rate are off the charts.

This country clearly wants brute force. "Kill that guy before he gets away with my car. The sanc y of life is oh so precious, unless you think about stealing my stuff"

I must have my revenge now, not later in a court.
