24/7 believes there is too much compe ion at this point in the game for Gibbs, and it's unlikely he'll visit UT.
not even close. poor man's Tebow might be closer
Inside Texas said this morning that there's only a slight chance that coaches Beck, Warehime, Washington and Naivar are retained.
Replacements could be named shortly after the Alamo Bowl.
Wow this revamp was much bigger than what Charlie Strong had right? Wasn’t Charlies revamp of staff a bit dialed back then this? Hard to believe a coach could be given a second chance to fix a major screw up like rehiring a new staff of 10 after a few years.
Herman brought the horses that got him to Texas with the Houston staff. This was a year late, IMO. Should’ve happened last offseason but here we are. Upgrades everywhere, better late than never
Getting rid of Wareheim is 2 years too late. This guy stunk up the oline when he was there, and he stunk up special teams as well. I think Naivar and Washington are more a matter of what the new DC wants than the job they did. If we get rid of them, then I think we have our mind made up of who we want and will throw a little money at them to get them here. I'm hoping we raid Bama, Georgia, and LSU for their defensive coaches. I wouldn't mind stealing the tOSU WR coach as well.
with the coaches, Herman made the Strong mistake of thinking that those who you worked with before at the lower gig would help elevate you at the bigger one. In reality, as hindsight is clear, most of them weren't up to it probably (though some of these position coaches might look better with more effective coordinators above them).
Some of them apparently were good, maybe very good, recruiters, but I doubt the recruiting a en was good enough to overcome whatever coaching deficits they may have brought.
I would need to go back and look because Charlie made changes before Year 2 bringing in Norvell and Traylor, so it's probably close to the same amount of turnover overall for each of their tenures.
I think Texas is in a much better position under Tom in year 3 than under Charlie in year 3.
Per Inside Texas, they don’t think Brandon Jones will play tonight. He’s pretty banged up.
That's kind of vague. Huge for who? The entire NCAA?
Tfloss, you can do this. Just put out a tweet saying "Can't give any details, but I hear there will be some news in 24 hours. Could be good, could ve bad, but there will be some news"
Shot in the dark: Saban is retiring.
