Yes, it seems obvious it's about the years. 3 for 90 is likely on the table.
3 is off the table. The Spurs next window is 2023.

He is going for the most money/years possible with an already established team or a team on the rise. I have a feeling its going to be the Knicks or the Mavericks on a 5 year 190-200 deal.

Demar will likely go for the longest contract possible. He will be 32, will slowly start declining and already has a game that is suited for a previous Era. If he signs a 3 year deal then he must really appreciate san antonio.

If the spurs resign him I’ll never watch another game. I’ve already stopped because of him

How many ing seasons with this er. I'm ready for the end of the derozan era.
I know man, people get fooled easy when he beats up on a defensive teams like the wizards or pelicans and forget about the 12 game losing streak or what ever it was that he led them on cause he’s so ing bad defensively and doesn’t spread the floor or hustle.

Who do you think would be better suited to close games?

Murray is known for making big mistakes in big moments.

White is apparently made of glass.

Lonnie only seems to show up for 1 out of every 5 games.

KJ can't create his own shot unless he is barreling to the basket.

Unless you think the Spurs are going to acquire another closer in free agency (hint: not likely), I'd really like to understand what you think the better alternative is.

The team has shown they are better without him. It’s addition by subtracting. Who cares about having an iso closer I’d rather develop and see what Murray, white vassell and Lonnie could do with the ball in their hands instead of defrozen hogging it down the stretch. With Derozan you’re a treadmill bottom feeder with spacing and poor defense

I really hope we're somehow able to do a sign and trade with him. He can give the spurs a parting gift by allowing us to do so and we send him to a team that he desires while getting a contract he desires.

If New York decides to aggressively pitch a premier free agent this offseason, DeRozan would seem to fit the mold of a player receptive to Thibodeau’s culture. The Spurs’ swingman is believed to have an interest in returning to the Eastern Conference, sources said, and there is plenty of scoring opportunity open in the Knicks’ rotation.

I could totally see that happening with the Spurs not getting in return. Knicks FO > Spurs FO

Especially with the asking price he will demand, it’s not like DeRozan is a young player in his 20s anymore. Knowing our history with vets, we’re gonna overpay him an extra year and his game will drop off a cliff a lot. I’d rather take my chances with the young guys. And sure the results may not be pretty right away but it will at least position them better in a future draft to pick up more talent. I know Spurs fans scoff at tanking but you gotta start somewhere. Signing DeRozan to another 3-4 years will just keep holding this team and the other guys back.

No one of our younger players will EVER learn how to close behind Derozan

truth is, demar has been the only spur who has shown the ability to go toe-to-toe with another team's star player. he doesn't always do this but he's certainly done it enough times to rule out such occasions as flukes. it that worth signing him to an extension? i guess that all depends on the asking price.

DeMar DeRozan in his first postseason game every year:

    2014: 13 points, 3-13
    2015: 15 points, 6-20
    2016: 14 points, 5-19
    2017: 27 points, 7-21
    2018: 17 points, 6-17
    2019: 18 points, 6-17
    2021: 20 points, 5-21

    ...29.7% from the field...

It’s absolutely uncanny in the worst way.

You can't build around a guy who can't shoot 3s and plays horrible defense. Let the guy walk.
