Once the GOP has been dismantled, and Trump really has already done this, what will happen to the Democratic party? The thought that once the GOP is toothless the Democrats will not have a target for their ire might be worth consideration. Will they turn on each other as the extremely progressive faction continues to speak out against the Democratic establishment?
The Democratic Party will be hard pressed to deliver the goodies, they may crack under the pressure to govern. Dunno about considering the GOP a done deal quite yet.

I don’t see how the GOP will be dismantled as long as they have gerrymandering, the EC and Wyoming getting as many senators as California. Not to mention the courts haven’t been this conservative since the Lochner Era. There’s going to be a GOP civil war over the next several months but we were only 50,000 votes across GA/AZ/WI from the conversation being about how the Democratic Party is a train wreck.
The Democrats will up our free lunch like we always do, mainly because the GOP won't be dismantled at all. It may be awhile before they find a POTUS candidate to embody white grievance the way Trump did, but the GOP can and probably will take back at least one of the House and Senate in two years IMO.
Yeah I think if the Democrats don’t up and manage to pick up seats in the ‘22 midterms, that’s when you can talk about the GOP being dead. Right now the GOP has a very significant minority in both houses and a SCOTUS that ready willing and able to get creative in gutting any popular legislation the Democrats actually pass.

The GOP isn't going anywhere. The "we are the oppressed minority" drum they've been pounding for years is even more effective now that they're the actual minority in 2 of 3 branches. And it's not like a 50 Senator and 211 representative minority isn't large enough to be obstructive.
