Texas governors have tasked themselves with protecting the border since 2005, costing Texas billions. How effective has that been?

Hard to say when Texas can't account for how the money was spent and the claimed successes are merely hot air emitted in press releases.

The 342M doses (887 pounds worth) were seized in the operation’s border areas, really? Thought no one would fact check?

Most of the fentanyl along border was seized in El Paso county, and they were not supported by the governor’s $$$$$.

The other statistics are also a bunch of crap! See article below.

    You are a gullible rube!

Abbott and his reelection campaign are citing figures that reflect fentanyl seizures across the state, including those that would have occurred without the operation. Of the 887 pounds of fentanyl that Abbott credited to Operation Lone Star in February, only about 160 pounds were seized in the 63 counties that the state included as part of the initiative.

El Paso County accounted for all but 12 pounds of the fentanyl captured as part of Operation Lone Star. The county was among several that declined to sign on to the governor’s border disaster declaration and, as of November, when most of the fentanyl was seized, had not received extra resources as part of the program.

"This unexplained order contravenes established First Amendment law," CCIA president Matt Schruers said in a statement. "No option is off the table. We will do what is necessary to ensure that the free market, not government fiat, decides what speech digital services do and do not disseminate."

    Big government good now...

Texas Gov. Abbott's Solution to Formula Shortage?

    Let Migrant Babies Starve

Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott was widely condemned Thursday for his joint statement with the National Border Patrol Council complaining about the Biden administration feeding migrant children in U.S. custody amid a national shortage of infant formula.

"I can't come up with the words to describe how de able and inhumane this is."

"Gov. Abbott and NBPC are literally demanding that the government lock babies in cages and then starve them of the sustenance they need to survive," tweeted Carl Takei, a senior staff attorney at the ACLU.

"I just... I can't come up with the words to describe how de able and inhumane this is."

"I'm especially blown away by the explicit contrast this

statement sets up between 'our children' (who are vulnerable, precious, and deserve survival)

    vs.

the not-our-children who deserve to starve in our baby jails,"

To Abbutt and similar American bags, immigrants are subhuman, disposable.

New polling released Wednesday by the University of Texas at Austin/Texas Politics Project showed that O'Rourke still has a long way to go if he hopes to defeat Abbott when they go head-to-head at the ballot box on November 8.

While nearly half (48 percent) of registered voters in Texas backed Abbott, just 37 percent supported O'Rourke. That's an 11 point lead for the GOP governor over his Democratic rival.

There's no way Abbott isn't going to win this. He's doing all the things that the hillbilly evangelical Texas Trump base want.
