I realise some won't want this thread here, but there are James White fans around- that can't be denied and he used to play for the spurs.

White had 47 points on an amazing 18-24 from the floor to go along with 11 rebounds as Arsenal defeated the Vipers.

Yes, I do realise this is just a D-League game.

    For the box score see:
    http://www.nba.com/dleague/games/boxscore.jsp?gameId=2020800147

"White was the unstoppable force on the Anaheim offense, but also added 11 rebounds and three assists in the loss."

I'm surprised that he isn't mentioned in the opening paragraph of the game recap!
    Where is the love????

Good numbers, but giving up 25 or 28 to his cover from the Vipers in a loss doesn't exactly make me miss him that much

Like you said it was just the D-league. And the D doesnt stand for Defense. Its stands for development.

Have you played in the D-League? The difference between a D-League player and an NBA player sometimes is a simple mental shift. Most D-League players would start for nearly any college team in the country. They are still at the very top percentile for any athlete. To post 47 points in a game is a feat, in college, D-league, or pro. Everyone underestimates the D-league because the players don't make 7 or 8 figures there, but it's filled with great players who would absolutely carve up most college defenses, to say nothing of what they would do to the local intramural teams.

I'm not sure how the Toros skipped him over twice in this year's draft. I'd rather the Toros spend time on James White(!) than Marcus Williams. White and Hairston would be pretty sick.

Dont forget Highschool either. Ive seen kids score 47 points in a highschool game as well. With nowhere near the amount of time on the clock. And with no money what so ever. Im impressed when a 17 year old kid can score that many points in a handful of minutes. But 47 in the D-league cant even be compared to 47 in highschool or college.

so if Morris Almond ever breaks out in the NBA and becomes a legit star.........and let's say wins the MVP or something like that.....the headline will read

I thought it was agreed that we'd only refer to him as:

I completely agree. The Toros are stupid. Unless someone with the Spurs told the Toros there was something wrong with White, he should be on the Toros right now. I would kill to see Hairston and White on the Spurs in the future.

What does "even" Morris Almond dropped 50.

Morris Almond averaged 30 ppg in College for Rice.
how is that working out for him?
    http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4303
plays in less than half of the games, 39% from the field, 25% from 3pt, more turnovers than assist

what I meant was dont get too excited because he had a huge game

Well, he would have to play like he was from outside the Milky Way to do that, though.

It will be interesting to see who guards White tonight. The Toros' D isn't anywhere near as good as it was last season.

White still can't shoot, Hairston is having a good time guarding him.

White got free a lot more in the second half off switches and got to the line a lot due to the resulting mismatches. Still an amazing athlete.
