Sean Elliott comparing DV to Spree.

I kinda see it and I fking love Latrell Sprewell. Compliment for sure and I don’t rock spinners.
    Spree was fun to watch
    Especially when he caught fire

Spurs fans cheering these pointless wins and those of us who prefer the tank for the betterment of the team's future:

It was clear from before the start of the season that the Spurs weren't loooking to outright tank, tbh. I remember arguing with my good ole pal itzsoweezee about it:

I won't say with certainty what the Spurs are or aren't doing - but it's IMO clearly closer to a rebuild than it is to a tank.

And you'll very quickly realize the difference once the Spurs start playing against actually tanking teams. Hope you don't join the B&M'g over them "not tanking hard enough" once that happens, tbh.
As much as I'd love Victor or Scoot on this team (and I don't think we've crossed some damning "winning bridge" yet or close to it), it's beyond evident that the Pop-led Spurs just ain't about a losing culture and dreams of 0-82 seasons, for better and worse.

And tbh, seeing how they manage to keep finding diamonds in any patch of dirt, with the new "Dynamic Wing Duo" of KJ & DV blossoming... Can you really argue the results?

Tbh it isn’t just the culture that’s causing these guys to win. If Pop was the coach of the Rockets rn, the results wouldn’t be that much different. The Spurs have put together a group of guys who are talented, have no ego, and are willing to listen. There’s absolutely no reason the Rockets or even Detroit shouldn’t have better records right now. The theoretical talent they should have should be through the roof. Those players and coaches try just as much as any team tries. There’s still time to turn it around but so far, not good.

The front office is tanking, the players are doing better than expected and are not tanking.

I remember an interview with Manu where he was asked.

Who did he fear in the NBA?

Manu looked confused, perplexed and quickly said

    "I don't fear anybody"

    Paraphrase in totality

Stupid people who have spent their entire lives earning a spot in the NBA (WHICH ISN'T ING EASY) choosing to be compe ive. What is up with that?

Pop is literally throwing out some of the craziest lineups he can dream up...but this team keeps pushing, and I love that.
