last time the Mavs lost the last reg season game on purpose, they got raped by the Warriors in round 1.
They will play to win and are the favorites tonight. I see Dallas winning tonight.

losing on purpose could result in utah getting the second seed and HCA in a possible second round match up.

In 2007 the Mavs elected to play the worse matchup in the 1st round by laying down. This year they might make the opposite mistake - playing the much better team in round 1 by not laying down.
They get the Spurs and they won't have a round 2 to care about HCA.
This could get ugly. Both teams fighting to lose the game.
