Unforced error by old joe, tbh... as soon as this hit they should've released the oil reserves... really amateur hour, tbh
yeah, well even if he did that, they still have to get it from the reserves to the station, the problem is idiots panic buying and setting a supply shock

the problem isn't oil availability, so releasing the old reserves would have not helped
Of course it is. You load up the trucks and get the oil where it needs to go.

If the pipelines are not working, the oil isn't getting where it needs to be.

They could've spun this as a "jobs program" subsidizing truckers to get the oil where it needs to be.

    Like I said, a fumble.

Automated billing is down and pipeline folks are slow to fix system.

But they have plenty of fuels, that is not issue.

The company halted operations because its billing system was compromised, three people briefed on the matter told CNN, and they were concerned they wouldn't be able to figure out how much to bill customers for fuel they received.

True, give every major established customer only xxx gallons per day and work out details later.

But they do not a contingency plan, sad.

in fairness to Colonial, their got hacked and they didn't know how bad it was, it made sense to shut it all down. , some of their suppliers shut their off when they heard.

This is the thing. They didn't have a plan. The government needs to step in when this happens, tbh.

    There's no oil shortage

Tell that to the people that can't buy gas because it's not available to them.

It's a distribution problem, I get it, then get the government to deliver the gas.

I would hope they know gas and oil aren't the same things

They restarted the pipeline today by the time the govt trucks fuel there they won't need it.

That's exactly why I said they needed to get this done when they found out about this a week ago.

yeah but this is only a thing because people caused a shock shortage, if people acted normal there would have been no problem

What you expect people to do when they start seeing "No gas" signs?

Plus, we're talking 'Murica here, they'll make panic purchases of ing Tickle Me Elmo.

This was predictable and avoidable, tbh, all I'm saying.
