Looks like PATFO got cold feet about paying Chandler's salary in 18-19, ruining their cap space situation.
You make it sound like they were rejected.
Kawhitstorm running the team
Interest in Tyson Chandler, PJ Tucker, Derrick Rose, and Rudy Gay
12:01am horrendous deals to role players like we're the Nets
Got cucked by Morey
Got used by Iggy
Drafted yet another dud
Not trying to mislead. Mods feel free to edit Thread le.
He's on the books for $13.5m in '18-19.
Would've been a gamble to use up that cap room instead of going after James and another of his buddies.
More like Suns reached out to the Spurs...
You don't even own a real boat
You're not even the head coach of your middle school team.
Damnit, we could have used another 34 year-old.
This explains why they would renounce him. He can be used in a sign and trade (provided he agrees) to bring a player back. A win-win for Simmons, Spurs, and the team that wants him, as they can salary dump a guy in exchange.
Doubt it. Suns probably asked, and even drunk RC said no.
Thank Christ that didn't pan out. Enough old dudes!
Articles are saying Spurs pulled out at the last minute, so they were obviously considering the deal. And Simmons was OK with going to Phoenix.
chandler would have been great three or four years ago. he would have been a cap burden/risk now.
if only NBA players could learn how to pull out at the last minute.
Yes, but really? I mean they let him become a free agent, and then it was over that quickly. Chandler would destroy their chance at cap space next summer for a guy that doesn't move the needle anymore. I think that's more source hyping.
TGY is pretty upset this didn't pan out
You hardly post, but when you do, you have my in your mind. This is the last time I address you got. Enjoy it.
I mean.. what can I say that you haven't said already... I'm sure I won't sleep tonight because this is the "last time you address me" - enjoy dreaming of s and got.. ROLF
I wonder if SA would trade for Bledsoe? He's still young enough and fills a positional need. Reasonable fixed cost for 2 years. Spurs would still have plenty of cap space in theory to add a max player too.
Reason why Tyson eats into cap space is bc for the cap space scenario to come into play LMA & Tp would be gone. SA would need a PG a star level LMA replacement but TC eats into that.
With Bledsoe at least the PG issue is solved and now they only need money for LMA replacement.
damn woulda been terrible. thank God this didn't pan out.
