Whataboutism would be if I acknowledged those outlets got this story wrong, then pivoted the conversation to a time when Fox News or Breitbart was wrong. I'm doing neither. I'm exercising skepticism about the Park Police's statement and reminding the poster that he follows some bull accounts on Twitter.
Incidentally I don't think most people care if it was tear gas or smoke canisters. The main story is that police forcefully cleared out peaceful protestors 30 minutes before they were supposed to disperse, so the President could perform a bad faith stunt for stupid people in front of a church.
