How can they be close to landing butler if they can't even talk to him until Monday?

He'd be a great pickup for their bench. With the way Tony Allen played last season and with Gay returning, he wasn't going to get a whole lot of opportunity in Memphis anyway.

Actually that's a good move if Riles could pull it off. He could end games for the Hype at SF. He'd be a major 4th qtr upgrade.

He would be a good get, but I dont get it from Battier's perspective ...

He can still make significant contributions how many minutes are you gonna get being Lebron's backup? He can play 4 in a pinch ...but Bosh and Haslem reside there.

But whatever ... though i repect his game I have hated him since Duke ...

Battier wants a le. Going to MIA where he will get decent money (about as much as he would command anywhere), will also give him a legit shot at that where he will actually play. MIA plays a lot of Lebron at 4, and that means it would be Battier/Wade/Bron/Bosh on the floor at the same time.

Who wouldn't want to piggyback 2 of the 3 best players in the league for a ring and get paid while banging all the hot Cuban and Puerto Rican es that 8th Street has to offer?

Not that I think Shane has a lot of gas left, but he's certainly better than Mike Miller defensively. It is going to be so damn hard to score on the Heat this year. Bron/Wade/Battier on the floor is a nightmare on the perimeter.

Battier is only chasing white women ... if that is what he wants, he would have his choice of Britney, Amber, Chloe, if he went to OKC or Indiana ...

This line up was very solid in the finals. It worked out much, much better than I imagined because Shane actually had some gas left in the tank (hitting shots at a crazy clip makes any player more impactful obviously).

Lebron at the 4 gives you a nightmare match up for every team.

Battier came up huge in the Finals. He's a big part of why the Heat are the champs this year.

Wasn't hard to tell he'd be a major upgrade to their depth.

Except he was starting in the finals with the lineup I mentioned. It wasn't obvious to me at least that it would be that solid. He looked pretty done for the last few years and his numbers backed that up. That was a lot more than I thought with that line up. They went with it in the finals and it worked very well.
