Sounds like something you need to be good at using computers to do
God I’m glad John McAfee is dead.
Probably came with Norton instead.
All that is worse than actually getting a virus.
exactly. Norton, McAfee, etc. all with your computer a lot more than any potential virus.
John McAfee was such a ghoul he was probably behind creating viruses just to create an artificial demand for his dog software.
Nope. No pre loaded anti virus on it. I was pretty shocked about that myself tbh
The fact that there is no simple way to uninstall them like you'd be able to any other piece of software tells you everything you need to know.
Mine didn't have McAfee.
Getting a virus is worse if your computer is anything other than a gaming machine.
Get PC Matic, it's legit
As for Jon McAfee... didn't he like to eat poop as a hobby?
Between that and the fact I've read he's been a heavy smoker, drinker and -at times- drug user. Amazing he ended up surviving to almost 80 and not dying of natural causes.
Side note: He's also been rumored to have impregnated 15-20 other females besides his wife, some of them underage.
It's not too hard. Just use the product key for Windows that will be on a sticker on the back of your laptop or wherever they stuck it on your desktop, or maybe they just gave you like a postcard with the Windows key on it with whatever new computer you buy.
Seriously derp.
This is a good thread and you still cant help yourself. The old alt backup for confirmation... sick little boy.
Do they still do that? It all comes intergraded these days.
Since I’m not a PC gamer, an all in one computer is just the right fit for me so that's what I've been using for the last 7 or so years now. Last computer with a tower I had was in the mid to late 2000s. I stripped that up and kept the hard drive few years back. Still have it and dont know what to do with it. Has some vintage porn on it which is probably why.
But yeah I reccomend the same. Just download win10 on Microsoft, put it on a stick and get a key relatively cheap off a third party seller and you're good.
The whole point is formatting and reinstalling Windows from scratch to get rid of all the garbage bloatware like McAfee and Norton that comes on systems out of the box. He doesn't need to buy a Windows key, he can use the one that comes on his laptop / desktop. You'll get a postcard with the Windows key and/or usually a sticker on the computer itself that gives the Windows key. Something like this is likely to be affixed to his computer:
It's easy to delete and disable the mcafee crap anyway with the control panel -> programs -> uninstall
Also, disable the automatic updates crap
fwiw, I deleted my McAfee "total defense" crap and I'm using Windows Defender, the generic antivirus tool that comes with MS. It seems to work just as well.
Ended up buying an expensive ass Lenovo with a tone of RAM and no anti-virus software. I’m pumped for when it arrives.
