    WTF is OKC thinking?
37 mil per for 2 more years.

    To get a #16 pick.
OKC was raped or is in collusion with Celtics.

More picks = more shots at building a solid roster with cheap young talent. We’ll see if it works but it’s a sound strategy imho. A good player on a rookie deal is the most valuable asset in the league right now. They’ll pay for bad contracts now for a shot at a cheap killer roster in 3 years.

So the OKC "rebuild" of the last 7 years continues.

Agree with the premise.. but Here is the issue ..
I would much rather have a few elite picks (Top 2) then a treasure trove of middling picks. To many young players all trying to establish themselves at the same time is problematic.

I'd offer a bunch of those picks for Luka ...so Cubes The Gambler and their analytics Team can have all the shots they want at using data to build a contender.

Horford was making $27 million per year for 2 more years and they have to hit a salary floor they're way below for next season anyways. Basically dumped a guy they didn't want for a mid first rounder, not a bad deal at all. Wish the Spurs could have done a trade like that for Aldridge.

I heard OKC is planning to try to turn around and trade Kemba.

So I wonder if they already have their next trade partner lined up?

I'm guessing probably some new rule they put in for this season.

Even with the lower picks it gives them a chance to take random shots on guys that are projects but if they reached their potential could be stars. I think their logic is that by having a lot of picks that eventually they will strike gold with randomly finding a diamond in the rough.

According to this it's been in the CBA for a while now:

Teams can make trades between the start of the regular season up to the NBA’s trade deadline — 3pm (eastern) on the seventeenth Thursday of the season. (The trade deadline for the 2018-19 season was February 7, 2019.) For teams that do not make the playoffs, they can start making trades again on the day after their last regular season game. Playoff teams can start making trades once they’re eliminated from the playoffs. However, no trades can take place during the moratorium period.

So by taking on Kembas 37 million per year Xs2 how is it an OKC "dump"?

If they're able to find a team that gullible / in on the collusion more power to OKC.

Perhaps Kemba is going to do some Lebron level roids and Kobme German enhancment treatments.

Top 2 picks can bust out too. Plenty of examples.

And look around the playoffs. Some of the biggest stars in the post season weren’t even top 10 picks, let alone top 2-5 picks. Nephew, Freak, Booker, Spider Mitc , Joker. You trust your scouting, evaluation, and development staff, and you don’t need top 2 picks to draft successfully.

I would too, but it's not like Donnie Nelson is making those picks. Presti is going to find talent in the mid first round.

I think it's "in principle" and won't be finalized until the draft or after.

Still a solid move by both teams. Boston gets good depth inside (although taking on Al's bad contract) and OKC adds more draft capital/assets.

Still, Presti is gonna need to start hitting on these upcoming picks or begin offloading them. Otherwise, he may end up like Ainge.

Hitting on a few, but pretty much whiffing on a vast majority of them.

Kobme Tatum wasn't getting it done either way.

I think the Hayward injuries is what did the C's in though.

    They were put together nicely.
