I hope Pop isn't playing mad scientist mind games and trying to turn Primo into a PG....

That will mess this kid up.

There was apparently intel that teams wanted Primo just a few picks after 12 so a trade down would have meant losing him.
    They took who they wanted.
    I havent heard that.

I like the kid. Alot . Its semantics at this point. He's going to be a stud in due time imo.

If what you say is true then I cant all over the team for making 100% sure they got their guy be it much earlier than anyone predicted.. It is what it is.

Antoine pettway and I were/are friends since his college days and he's gotten me into a couple of team practices. We've talked about nate's handling of primo this year and pettway was convinced that coach nate put him in a limited role so as to try and keep him under the radar and increase the likelihood he would come back for a second season. So nate had an agenda but he still went pro.

Primo struggling this quarter… Devins gotta assert himself out there
I dunno... I'm seeing good things from Primo.
Of course, you can't ask for AMAZING from a child on his first game... I mean, Kobe underwhelmed his rook season from Laker fan expectations after trading for him.

Perspective is paramount, but there is plenty of good to see from Primo's game already.

This team will be a lot more bearable to watch once Tre comes back, I expect him to have a very good summer league.

It's been discussed and taken from Wright's quotes.

    No worries.

Believing what Brian Wright says no one wanted this kid in the first round, and no, he wouldn't have been a top pick next year.

    5*

I don't know how professional scouts can see a kid that spent his entire freshman season be a spot up shooter and think to themselves that he can play PG.

Primo looks fluid for a kid.

Wieskamp looks like he's just a catch and shoot guy.

I'm going to hold judgement on Primo since its his first game but he is looking far from a 12th pick at the moment that's for sure. Hopefully he can pick it up more once he starts to get more comfortable.

Primo looks good and fluid on the offensive end. Making some good reads and passes, demonstrating some shot creation ability, but his handles and first step remain limited. Wieskamp is non existent on the offensive end but I’ve been encouraged by his effort on the boards and the defensive end. Moving his feet better than last game.

Agree. The handle, to me, looks fine. I attribute it to more to playing against bigger and faster compe ion than what he experienced in college. Guys can close the gaps quickly so half spins and the like have to be executed quicker as a result.

I’m encouraged. Love that there’s licence to take 3s off the dribble, playmake off the p’nr. Some really good signs here.
