Could be a cheap reclamation project at a position of need tbh.
To the people freaking out about not filling the need of center in the draft, this is why you don’t draft centers. There is plenty of supply and prices have come way down. See Kanter taking a $5mm player option.

It’s also why they shouldn’t have prioritized Poeltl in the trade for #2, but that’s a sunk cost.

Hopefully shows that Poeltls value is no where near 10M+. If you can get him for 8M or less? Fine. If not, let him go.

If reports of Hayward walking are true, I wonder how BOS replaces him talent wise? They will still only have the MLE (even if they can get under the cap a little with Hayward off the books) so trade? Do they feel good about their team as is minus Hayward?
Hayward just isn't very good anymore tbh.

Maybe. Not worth his deal for sure, but very possible he’s still an above average player in the right setting IMVHO

I just dont see the value in adding any long term contracts right now unless it’s someone on a rookie deal (ie a Cam Reddish type). Why try to get the 8th seed in a year when playoff gate revenue isn’t going to be what it normally is? Better to position selves for 2021 draft and rebuild.

Wright needs to take note of what fellow small market teams in NO and OKC are doing.

    They aren’t taking DDR dude...

For BOS it’s addition by subtraction honestly.

For this year, only if they can get a team with cap space to send back less salary in a trade. For future years yes, if they get back an expiring contract.

iirc Wiseman now counts around $9M in a trade, while it was zero before he was picked. Or is that only when he signs his contract?

I really thought GS would just let the trade exception expire, especially with Thompson down. They might be going all in instead.

Trading for Oubre is a win now move...maybe GS isn't giving up? If not Spurs need to do all they can to send them DD/LA to compete next year while Klay is out. it would save them a load of money and help them compete in 2021

    LMA
    Green
    Oubre
    DeRozan
    Curry

    Pretty solid SL imo

They're really going to be taxed the equivalent of a whole another roster (and then some?) for a team without Klay for the season? Yikes.

The Boston Celtics have extended qualifying offers to Tacko Fall and Tremont Waters. Both were two-way players for the Celtics last season. Now, they will become restricted free agents.

    Keith Smith @KeithSmithNBA

I'm guessing since the team has not put anything out that Semi Ojeleye's team option was not exercised by the Boston Celtics. He could be a restricted free agent, but that seems unlikely as well.
