Steve Nash play defense? Not sure he played any defense in any game those two MVP years.
It reminded me of when the Bulls prevented Smith from scoring in the playoffs with Kawhi and LMA getting those blocks.
He didn't. Nash was a horrible defender his whole career. That's one of the reasons his Suns could never get past the Spurs.
IMHO harden isn't his main compe ion. A lot of voters are going to remember that game at voting time and may put Kawhi ahead of him because he plays defense. Harden even brags in a commercial about how he won't play defense at the expense of his offense because "what's the fun in that." but Russ averaging a triple double all but locks in the award for him. They don't care about the team rank, playoff exit, or lack of defense. Those three statistical categories will win it for him. Of course if he and harden split enough first place votes maybe Kawhi could win it with enough second place votes like he did the his first DPoY
