but the reason why oubre is being paid so low is because of his inconsistent 3 pt shot...

They should definitely ship out White and not Murray if they make a trade. White is older and had foot issues almost every season, Murray has a higher ceiling
White is a lot better than Murray. DJM would have to improve a ton to be the better player. White just has to increase his games played by stat up to like 70 to be better than Murray can be expected to be. If a team will be able take either, you trade White if your goal is to tank and Murray if your goal is to win games.

Cheers. Forgot about him. He'd be a good trade target.

I think Murray is more of a disruptive defender. And imo, I think disruptive defense is the future rather than stoppers.

Simmons would bolt for Cali the first chance he gets.

Agreed but in order to get picks we’d likely have to take on a bad contract.

could do something like Walker/Young/Aminu/Poeltl to Dallas for KP and 2 1sts

Dallas gets a better defending center and now has very tradable expiring contracts. SA gets a player that used to be good and has potential to regain some of that play not playing next to fat harden and gets picks. If KP doesn’t improve his play then great, he helps accelerate the tank.

also, spurs are likely going to be really awful next year. You’d think KP could get good stats on that bad team. If he does, we could flip his value (artificially of course), find some dumb team that thinks he’s improved and trade him for more picks.

If a player has pulled a Kawhitter before, they’ll likely do it again at the first sight of any obstacle or rough patch. He’s mentally weak…although has lots of talent

Beg your pardon? Drummond signed with the 76ers for the minimum.

What is the meaning of your comment?

Before free agents can sign there has to be open roster spots, right? Will we see players waived first?

Just to review how things stand...

At the moment, the active roster is 9.

    7 acquisitions are pending.

That doesn’t count Primo, who is a guaranteed contract.

It also doesn’t count Wieskamp or Diop.

That’s 19 so somebody is going someplace.

I find that teams are allowed to have 20 players under contract during the offseason. “Offseason” ends on the day before the season opener. So there’s no urgency now.

Can the Spurs already trade the players that they just received? Sorry I’m not so familiar with trade rules and limitations. So in essence, they can just collect these assets (and picks) and reroute them? Thanks.

Yes, kinda. They can include other teams in the original trade. Once the trade becomes official, you can only trade the player in a one for one.

So say Dragic doesn't want to be in Toronto, and wants to be rerouted to Dallas, to play with Luka. Toronto and the Heat could fold in the assests of the Spurs/Bull trade since DeRozen was 3 year deal (S&T requirement), everyone else was expiring, and the Bulls would reroute what the Spurs received if the Spurs wanted to take a stab at KP or Siakam to Dallas or Toronto? Also, extra assets could be added, say a Samanic or Walker, to make the money or roster spaces work out?
