Dow futures down nearly 1000. We’re looking at a stock price last seen in Sept 2016.

I smoke in isolation. I guess you could make an argument about it staying on my clothing though. I'm hoping this pandemic motivates me to finally quit, tbh.

But for self-quarantining (R)s, the votes were probably there for it.

Sorry CC, but I'll put the blame squarely on both. There was no point in bringing up this vote to the floor other than to play gamesmanship and trigger comments like yours.

They need to stop playing games, both sides, and get done.

Bruh, I switched to electronics like 10 years ago. Still get my nicotine kick, no awful smell, no tar on your teeth... better to not smoke at all, but if that can't happen, something to consider.

Didn't Republicans basically go full Repug last night and take out all regulations against stock buybacks and other things? The Dems didn't vote no all of a sudden for no reason.

One idea I've heard is that controversial parts of the bill be voted on separately and whatever both sides roughly agree on passed as soon as possible.

Otherwise the deadlock could go on for some time.

Any studies of just how at risk smokers are? I'm only 30 but have about 12 years of regular smoking under my belt. Probably an average of 7-10 cigarettes per day over that time.
Idk where weebo is getting his numbers, maybe he can provide a link. China study says...

Being male increased the odds of progressing to severe illness by 1.3 times, while smoking made it a little over 1 to 2-and-a-half times more likely. Overall, patients with underlying medical conditions including hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease were 2 to 3 times more likely to progress to severe illness.

Certain conditions raised those odds further: For instance, people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder were anywhere from 2-and-a-half to nearly 11 times more likely to get severely ill. Kidney disease is also likely a big risk factor. While the research didn't pinpoint exactly how big that risk is, it's somewhere between 2- and 16-fold.
Greatest risk factor is being old. Being an old smoker pretty guarantees you will have some of the other risk factors.

It’s a battle between corpirate handouts and putting money in the workers hands. Crisis, no crisis things don’t change. Next phas3 fighting over which state, cons uency, lobby gets the money. What works best for the economy, support during the crisis, recovery? that.
