You can't commit any crimes when you're killing yourself.

The third safest city in America: A couple strolls in the rain in the neighborhood near Laurelhurst Park on Monday.
Excuse me while I kiss the sky.
Portland, long in the shadow of its bigger, faster, shinier sister city to the north, trumps Seattle when it comes to safety.
That's the word of Forbes Magazine, which ranked us third among the 40 largest metro areas, behind Minneapolis and Milwaukee, at No. 1 and No. 2 respectively, and ahead of Seattle and Boston, which tied for 4th place.
The Milwaukee metro area, buoyed by the lowest natural disaster risk of the cities considered, ranks second. The Portland, Ore., metro area, which boasts the lowest crime rate, places third. Boston and Seattle are tied for fourth. Both benefit from low traffic fatality rates -- Boston's is the lowest on our list, and Seattle's is the eighth-lowest. This is largely because they boast two of the most user-friendly mass transit systems in the country.

Forbes obviously forgot to interview THIS resident:
translation.
Portland is America's third most "boring" city.
24th in crime and 12th in suicides...doesn't sound too safe to me.
Portland sucks.
222 cloudy days a year? that.
I've lived in Portland all my life. I love it here. Yes, we have a lot of rain and cloudy days. But it doesn't bother me because I'm not a pussy.
Actually I kicked her out in April.
Very well, thanks.
Not to mention the strip club capital of the U.S.
Dude, WHY ARE YOU A SPURS FAN???!!!
Let's see how you feel about saftey when Mount Hood blows it's top and pours hot magma all over your ass.
been there, done that.
Uhhh...not to really defend Portland, but you guys know that Oregon is one of the few states in the country with legal medically assisted suicide, right? If someone in say...Texas...had a terminal illness and wanted to punch out a little early before spending their last few days in a coma ting their diaper they would logically choose a place like Portland to travel to and take care of business. Staying in Texas and doing it just invites legal trouble for family and friends.
Because I am. The city in which I live doesn't determine the teams I root for.
Hard to believe that LA is not in the top 5...
No wonder... Zach Randolph and Darius Miles are out of town.
tlong is that you in the picture?
Because he's a bandwagoner. And like anyone with common sense he knows the Blazers are never going to win .
Of course Portland is a safe city.
Bonzi Wells Sebastian Telfair aren't there anymore
it says safest cities
Yup. That's exactly it. Being a fan of the same team for 20 years is bandwagoning, right? That's funny.
Haha, forgot about those two With Telfair, Wells, Randolph and Miles gone they aren't the Jailblazers anymore.
