Inb4 Sugus, Dex, Dejounte, and Mr.Old Body tell us how we're contenders, and anyone poo-pooing this are spoiled fake fans.
Don’t drag my name into this. I’m on record as saying that I hate the Primo pick and free agency is proving that Brian Wright is a moron in my opinion.

Low risk high reward move but probably an overpay

My hope is that the ex Trailblazer to the Spurs good fortune repeats. Like when we got Jerome Kersey, Steve Kerr, Terry Porter, and Patty Mills. After playing in Portland and came to the Spurs they won a championship. That’s the only bright side for me. I’m desperate.

Timmy ain't walking through that door tbh.

You can say what you want about these moves, good or bad, but one thing is clear --

They had a plan and got the guys they wanted early. This doesn't feel like scrambling around at the end of free agency, looking for Plan B or C.

That alone seems like a positive (notwithstanding the fact, of course, that it could all be a complete disaster ).

In any event, the question is answered -- they have chosen a direction for this team, they have a clear vision for this team, an approach which will either succeed or fail, but even its failure will leave no doubt about what they were trying for.

Dieng gets $4M/1 YR from the hawks. While we give Zach $22M/3 YRS.

I mean Dieng would have been better on that same deal. Maybe he didn’t want to return to the Spurs.

That'd be good news if it nets the Spurs a top pick. Unfortunately now we can't depend on the Spurs to draft halfway decently anymore, they'll waste it on some scrub who has the potential to be a lottery pick the following season.

I’m fine with the Primo pick. Draft record has been fine considering where they’ve been drafting.

I would love for them to tank for a year or two and get higher upside picks.

Why not. Doubling down on 2 mobile 6-10+ players that can play inside and out. Who gets there faster between Collins health or Luka's offense.

Either way, Wright will be picking the guy who catches his eye at the combine.
