Great win Rougned walkoff
Astros letting go of Carlos Gomez
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/...one-run-games/
Interesting read. They've kept it up for 130 games, who's to say they won't continue...
A lot of their one-run wins are come-from-behind wins where the bullpen sans Bush/Dyson actually shat the bed in the 8th/9th and the offense carried them to the W; not much luck is needed to win in those situations when batters 1-9 are all significant threats. Dyson and Bush have shown enough to where I can trust them in the postseason as long as the offense stays potent. Just need to hope Bannister stops insisting on playing the other mediocre relievers too much.
RangerFan,
Are you confident this year will result in Championship?
Or will Ranger snatch defeat from the jaws of victory yet again?
Not so confident in the pitching right now, although we do have Colby coming back soon. Who's to say he can pitch at that level again? Holland looked good his last start but has been inconsistent all season along with Perez. Our closer (Dyson) can be scary at times, but I like our bullpen. If a SP is having an off day Claudio can come in and eat up a lot of innings. Our offense looks great despite losing Choo and Fielder for most of the season. I'm confident they can get to the World Series and beat any team from the NL, but our pitching is going to be our ticket as usual.
They can beat anyone in the AL but the NL will prove to be trouble, especially when the Giants go into September/October mode and MadBum is unleashed on us all.
Adam Lind, the Ranger killer (alongside Freese, Pujols, and Crisp)
Diekman and Banister.
that home plate umpire imo tbh
the Rangers are just unfair, killing Houston's season like that...
Waiving DeShields and Gomez
Banister is such a ty manager holy
Nevermind, he was ejected earlier in the game; missed that. Another great walkoff though.
2 more wins for the clinch mein negers
The pitching staff is really starting to worry me, as well as Banister's insistence on playing poorly performing relievers. Hopefully it ends when October gets here but if not it's gonna be a poor postseason run after a spectacular regular season.
Skosha claims the 97 mph fastball at the neck of Angel was b.s.
Said it was started by infielder having his foot in front of the bag and altering the slide of Ranger causing an out.
Anyone see?
Skosha was grasping at straws imo He's had a terrible season and I think he hit his boiling point last night. He was talking to our 3rd base coach for some reason and it escalated from there.
In postie interview he claims it started with an Angel infielder having his foot in the way of a sliding Ranger. Ranger claimed the placement of the foot caused him to have to slide around and thus got tagged out. I guess other option was e Angel lol.
Anywho Skosha claims the called-out Ranger said "I'm gonna get you" on his way back to the dugout. Next time up, 97 mph fastball goes whizzing behind the head of Angel Foot Infielder. This all per Skosha.
Skosha claims
a. Infielder did not improperly block bag, allowed access and that Ranger Runner was simply out.
b. If, if you're gonna throw at someone don't make it 97 mph and sure as don't throw at a guys head.
I'd like to see replays of it all. Angels network is pay for play in San Diego, as if our going to a game hinges on tv or not. Owner Moreno.
It started when Griffin, who was sick apparently, hit Trout. I thought of it as simply a terrible pitch (since it loaded the bases) but apparently Scioscia thought it was intentional.
