It's fine, you're being too melodramatic, we need to suck for at least two straight years, this treadmilling thing took too long, enough is enough.
(The sad thing is some of these will sound ridiculous but be 100% true.)
1. Spurs sign Forbes.
2....

signing forbes should be counted as 7steps and last one is zach collins 3/22
2.) Sign a 25+ year old on this young squad.
Did op die while composing the post? Thats sad, RIP mvpcues
3.) Sign someone who can't walk due to ankle and foot problems for 20+ million.
Wheewww, it was a close call. Everything was black and spinning for a while...
4. Announce Pop is definitely back for more of the same.
Not sure if this qualifies for off season....
Letting Softridge and Wombat play large minutes all to go 33-39 and getting absolutely zero back in return.
Buying out Softridge so he can go to the f_cking Nets.
5) Spurs sign Forbes
Let's spare a moment to reflect on what Dallas have done. First and only opportunity to make some good moves before Luka's extension kicks in and their big acquisition is Reggie Bullock
Similar for NO.
Bring back Demar on a 5 year max
Bring rudy gay in at $14m/yr
Bring patty back at $10m/yr
Oh wait.
PG: Murray/White
SG: Walker/Forbes
PG: Murray/White
SG: Forbes/Walker
PG: Murray/Forbes
SG: White/Walker
He does fit in these rotations with Patty gone. I think we need one guard who's just a shooter and that's Bryn. Personally I wouldn't start him and I don't think he's a backup PG (although he's done it for us in the past.) That's why I think we should either start Walker or Vassell at the 2 and have White be the backup PG and let Bryn be backup SG. Whoever doesn't start out of Walker/Vassell can be the backup 3.
I will believe it when I see it. They will win too many games, barely miss the playoffs, and the draft seed won't move the needle. I'll be glad to be wrong.
Agree with this evaluation plus I think they’ll be compe ive and play hard, be in every game. The lack of a closer and a star will prevent them from really making a run for the playoffs, but the roster is far from being bad enough to look like the hapless Rockets or OKC from last season. I think they’ll be “compe ive.” Probably end up picking around the same spot as this past season. If Derrick White gets injured for a huge stretch or misses a big part of the season then I do see some tankathon-like run bc Pop will bump up Bryn’s playing time and there’s a gulf between them as players.
Are we assuming locking up Pop is #1 or is it a given he is returning?
There were so many choices, I gave that #4.
- We threw a 3 year deal (not sure yet what's guaranteed, what isn't, you rarely know with this FO) to a big man that just had his 2nd (or 3rd?) stress fracture surgery literally 10 days ago.
- The actual young, playable, intriguing big man prospect from Australia? That guy gets a 2 year deal. Just enough so if he's good enough, we can't afford him when the time to lock him up comes due.
- I'm bracing to hear the news of what the Forbes deal looks like. Signing him might not be actually be worst news yet. This is for a guy that was falling through the cracks in free agency and supposedly the Spurs didn't need to outbid anybody else.
not to mention he wont see rotation minutes until year 2 by default
Yes this of season has been a huuge dissapointment for many. Still i contend spurs didnt improve or get worse. So ill say 8-12 again n the west with another late lottery pick
forbes replaces mills
dougie replaces gay
jock better then ewwbanks
young/aminu for demar... probably a wash considering young guys get more touches
zach is well always hurt but maybe he doesnt break anything again
i dont know wth hutchinson is
I don’t think Zollins will play this season. Seriously, he only just had a 3rd Surgery on an ankle fracture. I am no doctor but read that his recovery from that — assuming no setbacks (and if they happen, forget about him) — is 6 months, then he would need to rehab and get ready to play, get in game shape. I just don’t see it. Maybe toward the back end of the season, at which point Pop will be comfortable playing others. Maybe he gets on the floor for spot minutes to see his mobility and fluidity and in case there’s a team option the team needs to decide on, but I just don’t see him contributing next season.
It’s probably Samanic’s best chance to bring some kind of game while Zollins is injured.
