This is the first time in history where we've had a major pandemic in conjunction with rapid global travel systems in place. People look at previous history and make a false assumption that things will follow similar patterns of viral burn-out but they won't. The leadership of the democratic Western world aren't able to make the difficult decisions that need to be made for fear of bad public opinion and the loss of their hold on government, to shut down all travel and isolate the virus transmission. Movement between nations must absolutely be halted at this point to extinguish the mutagenic danger of the virus. Most people seem to be still not overly worried about COVID because the recovery rates are still very high even without vaccination, this is because a current infection will produce an immune response against nearly all other mutations of the virus keeping you protected. There will come a point though where the virus differentiates to such a level that you can be infected with one class of variant only to be double-tapped by a second class that your body can't immediately fend off in its weakened state. They will give it some name like "multi-variant co-infection" and even the most healthy individuals will suc b.
Make no mistake, it's not just waves of infection that wax and wane. Things are getting increasingly worse every month but it's a silent threat building up nobody is discussing.
Just wait and see how bad things get. The mutagenic danger of coronaviruses has always been kept in check by the fact that these viruses were previously restricted to animal populations isolated to local regions. Animals do not get on to airplanes and fly half way around the world to see family and attend business meetings by the hundreds of thousands everyday. The jump to humans is causing exponential mutation spread unlike anything ever observed. Government mismanagement of this problem will lead to a path of catastrophic uncorrectable loss of life beyond anything ever seen, it will become apparent as the years roll on and things just slowly get worse and worse. This will inevitably lead to erosions of rights and freedoms nobody could possibly believe.
Omicron is a Godsend to those unvaccinated.
