More like Caron Butler is going to retire in a year or so and wants to play on a good team to get another ring, so his PR team is throwing out teams that are "interested".
Spurs are going to need to fill the roster out with minimum type players once the big guns are signed. Plus, Spurs are going to be rumored with a ton of free agents from here on out. Don't believe everything you read.
The article I saw said that Butler's camp was "expected to field interest from" SA not that they were actually interested
Manu replacement for one year
No thanks, he said no to us before so screw him.
people were saying Butler and/or Danny Granger could replace Kawhi and Green just 2 seasons ago, tbh..
The NBA is the only pro sport where the names hold more weight than the actual ability..it's why players like Rajon Rondo are still hyped when they're traded to Dallas, it's why buy-out candidates are still coveted despite being finished(Butler and Granger being great examples), and it's why players like Tony Parker are still given the benefit of the doubt..only in the NBA, tbh, as long as your name is recognized..
Hopefully the article is around 8 years old..
Nice try, Caron Butler's camp. Piss off.
Sums it up....Every year man, it's a given.
Butler hasn't been worth a in like 5 years, and the Spurs haven't signed a player over 30 as a FA for a rotation spot since Dice in 2009.
No more old guys.
yea fk him he wanna snub us he can off
Is Butler the scrub the Spurs have to settle for if all the decent free agents turn the Spurs down?????
Terrible player, better locker room guy at this point in his career. But....

^the System will take care of that tbh.
Those s pop and Rc must be drunk
PATFO just doing their due diligence on a long forward vet. Caron is probably like plan C.
Butler is a good option if the Spurs are able to sign Aldridge since the will hardly have any money remaining to fill out their roster. If Butler is willing to take vet minimum it makes sense. If Aldridge signs elsewhere then there's no reason to sign him.
