So many threads. We all had the finger on the trigger
This. I think we're all just excited about the possibility of the Spurs actually making moves

Who's the better Morris anyways? The Marcus one or Markieff?
Marcus is better and was good in Boston

My only gripe is we have yet another player who can not shoot 3s.
Shot 38% from 3 last season tbh.

Ideally, Belli or Wombat would've been moved instead.
Yep. That would have been picture perfect.

But now that I think about it. Carroll is unnecesary with Morris on board. Carroll made sense when we didn't have a single guy over 6'6" who could D up a bit. In a squad with Morris in the picture Bertans > Carroll as a bench player. If only for change of pace purposes.

Need defenders not another spot up shooter

Wonder if we got anything useful back from Washington?

Still would like to see a guard or two shipped out.

Great move as Bertans was a shooter who was far too inconsistent to be relied upon and couldnt really do anything else.

Celtics fans loved him and that's rare in racist Boston. Also kept him away from being Bron's scapegoat. Great moves by RC, i take my earlier comments about the mugshot billboard back.

Glad Bertans is gone. Definition of a choker full of himself

It's not a given that the Spurs knew that Morris would sign before getting Carroll. Could be that he just now took the offer.

I would rather have one elite defender and one elite three point shooters instead of one elite defender and one good defender. But it is already made, good move overall.

. Apparently at me and others who thought they'd never sign a Morris brother (though the logic was sound) . . .

    Morris/Gay
    DeRozan/Carroll
    Aldridge/Poeltl
    Forbes/Mills
    Murray/White

    Or

    Morris/Gay
    Carroll/Forbes
    Aldridge/Poeltl
    DeRozan/Mills
    Murray/White

Obviously 1-3 would cross match defensively.

The Spurs shoulda just kept Bertans and signed Morris with the MLE?

Would you rather have Carroll or Bertans

    Quick thoughts:

-Marcus Morris is a really good fit as starting power forward. Can space the floor, adds toughness, does well against those long wings.

-You can play Carroll and Morris together at the forward spots. Both are flexible and able to play 3 or 4.

-I didn't think the Spurs would actually sign a Morris twin but you can't question the talent. Marcus Morris was very likely the best possible pure fit at the MLE.

-That Morris was even eligible at the MLE is surprising. He basically just fell through the cracks, it seems. I think it was Lowe who was predicting that he could get $80 million or more this offseason.

-Bertans will be missed for his elite stretching of the court but he's being replaced by two players who can shoot threes and do more than just that on the court. With this option on the table, the Spurs would have been dumb to pass it up.

Yeah, I realize that. I wonder if PATFO is now regretting the Carroll signing.

Spurs finally shore up the SF/PF rotation this offseason. We should see a much improved team next year. It was painful watching DeRozan/Beli as our only SF options
