On the one hand Dieng at 9 is insane, on the other hand we just took Josh Primo last year and found out the staff thinks he is a future franchise player over a 20 8 8 guy so anything is possible...

Let me get the ice cube and crown royal on deck. Let me go ahead and call in sick for tomorrow in case we really do draft Dieng at 9.

ESPN has still Orlando picking Jabari Smith in their updated mock and add all the executives they've talked to say ot would be a major surprise otherwise. They give Dieng to NO and... Sharpe to the spurs.

They didn't see his ITVS I guess... Really hope he isn't the pick either.

Would love to see them take a crack at Sharpe. That would tell me that they think they can cure (or at least manage) the character issues. That, or they’ve learned nothing from the Nephew drama.

Nephew is unique. You have to be at least as good as ben simmons to pull it off. For every nephew there's a paul george and anthony davis whoeach left their teams in better condition

Spurs have to be playing that long game of tanking for Wembanyana next summer, can't be anything else. I honestly hope at this point they find a great Murray trade. We can wish him well, watch him get to the playoffs and be happy about it getting his chance, while Spurs start the real process of rebuilding this thing back up.

I am not under no illusions that this isn't going to be painful to watch at times.

Dieng being french... wouldn't he be pals with Wembanyama from like the national team or something?

Think about this guys... It maybe hurt to lose George Hill, but you got Kawhi in exchange and a championship out of it, despite everything that happened later.

oh thanks for that... DPG about to give me a heart attack.. but still frankly doesn't matter at this point. I don't think I'll get a heart attack anymore with any pick. I understand what they are doing. This is a full on old fashioned rebuild.

I'd actually wish for Dejounte to be traded quickly once they made that decision bc this trade/non trade thing can last all season until next year when he has to sign an extension.

I just frankly I am seeing they are playing the long game at this point. DJ is 26 next year and wants to compete for championships. This team isn't it and they aren't about to start making win now moves apparently so at least they picked a direction and we move on. I am excited about that.

I will be honest here... the worst possible spot to be is limbo and I think we fans have endured this thing of trying to compete but not really making any moves to improve enough.
