Having the best two players isn’t an automatic playoff series win against another really good team. We’ve seen that as recent as the 2011 and 2014 Heat. We saw it with the 2004 Shaq and Kobe. We saw it with 2005 Shaq and Wade.

The better argument is that Golden State arguably has 4 of the best 6 players between the two teams, no disrespect to Clint Capela.
    Not automatic, but likely.

    More fair.

I could argue the next best two players are Harden and Paul (at least as far as production even if you hate the way they play). And while Curry and KD are clearly the best two players, it’s not like a galactic gap between them and Harden and Paul in terms of production. And Houston’s supporting cast knows how to play their roles. I think it’s not as lopsided as others think. But like I said earlier, the depth of talent Golden State has is a better argument than simply suggesting having the best two players is all you need to know.

I would say Durant is by far the best player in the series. Curry is just slightly above Harden, and Paul is another tier lower.

I know this board generally views Durant as the second coming of Hitler, but he's simply one of the best all-around players ever.

I don't think anybody here denies Durants abilities, it's just that he's the biggest got to ever grace an NBA court tbh

Probably Warriors sadly. Not sure what goons the Rockets have, but their best chance is getting a goon in there to try and shatter Currys ankle tbh.

Its not the popular choice and the odds are stacked against them but I really like Houston's chances here. CP3 just needs to continue to be that offensive safety net and figure out a way to limit Curry's production - a task he's done with success this year. Houston was built systematically from top to bottom to beat GS and If the role players can sink what the Warriors defense can give them, then I see an upset.

One concern- Harden's been playing way below his level in the first 2 rounds. 40% shooting isn't going to cut it. Optimistically, there's no way he'll continue playing at that pace. He's due for an excellent series- at least, that's what you should hope for if you want the Rockets to continue their success. Cherry on top if Eric Gordon decides to join him.

It's going to be a tough series, but I have my money on Houston. They have great defenders (Mbha Moute, Ariza, Tucker) and can match GS' offensive prowess. This isn't your MDA Suns folks, they can play on both ends of the floor.
i can roll with this but harden definitely needs to step his game up, like go supernova on them gy bay area team BUT some things aren’t meant to be and harden playing like a superstar consistently in a series ain’t one of it .

I don't really care, but hoping it's GSW... I just don't like Harden's so called brand of basketball, but should GSW lose I would not shed a tear either. win/win

No, that's precisely the problem: people allow their emotions to cloud their rational judgment in evaluating players. The same is happening with Kawhi now.

His gotry isn't even relevant to this discussion. No amount of gotry is going to stop him from being the best player in this series.

Some people have forgotten that size matters in basketball. With other factors held constant, the larger player has the advantage. Durant isn't quite the shooter Curry is, of course, but he's still an excellent shooter and makes a much bigger contribution on the defensive end.

Warriors. There's too much firepower to contend with, too much ball movement, better bench, etc...

Houston will play hard a couple games but somewhere around game 3 the starters will begin to quit and CP3 will pretend to be trying to drag them to the finish line.

It's going to be a chuckfest.

    I predict 60 3's a game.

Despite what I said about CP3 not making Houston better (ie get them over the hump), I want Houston to win.

That said, GSW will win in 5 or 6.
