3rd seed es! Deal with it!

Even more of a kick in the pants is there are only four, count them, four teams on Pace to win fifty games as of tonight.
Meaning Spurs will still pick around 23 or 24 in the draft. Not high enough to get a real impact player in this deep draft coming up.
But we're 5th in the league in point differential, have led by double digits in nearly 60% of their games, have one of the best home records, are third in the West and OKC and Minny can't catch us.
10 games alone are on the road against >.500 teams to close out this season. It's gonna get ugly

They're not slumping, they're just hibernating until the playoffs arrive. Now just 3 GB of the 9th seeded Clippers.
Just wait until Kawhi and Gay are healthy! Our bad three point shooters will finally hit the wide open shots they already get, and Manu and TP will reverse the aging process!
This UTA team crushed GS and had won 9 in a row coming into tonight. SA almost got them with no Kawhi or LMA.
Utah was one of the Spurs 5 remaining games vs non playoff teams. They could conceivably miss the playoffs which with or without Kawhi is pretty hard to fathom.
that spur team had the benefit of only 9 remaining road games of which 6 were against non-playoff teams. And obviously Tim to cover for Poop's bad coaching
one team had Duncan
one does not
Utah is playing like a playoff team.
And that season... the injury bug was not quite like this year.
It was bad bc Kiwi missed about a month or so. Tony was still relied on for a lot offensively and he was injured for a lot of it and when he played he wasn't right, looked washed up actually. Also, Tiago was still a big part of the team and he barely played all season. They clearly declined from their 2014 championship version.
Still that team had won a championship the season b4, had depth, continuity, LDN was in contract year form and had his best season of his career, Timmy balled all year, was an all star and had a great individual year (I don't recall if he was in the all defensive teams or all nba, but Tim had a great season, perhaps his last great season bc 2016 he injured his one good knee and that was the end), Manu was ok but eventually he was worn down.
This team is a lot more dependent on Kiwi and Lamarcus and it was built to be that way. They have some really old roleplayers and then some youth that is not battle tested like the guys who won a championship in 2014. It's probably a more shallow team bc their veterans have less in the tank than they had then. It's amazing they have made it this far, but the schedule will get brutal. They need to get everyone that is injured back and try to make a good run to end the season.
If Kiwi isn't back I would be for an under the radar "tank". Basically just play your young guys more and just live with their mistakes. If they get better and win you some games you didn't think were winnable, well at least your youth got better and they are yours to keep. If they don't get better you get a higher draft pick and have a better idea of what you have and what you need to do in the summer with the roster. This is only if Kiwi doesn't come back this season.
Duncan was great that year. Absolutely.
3 seed built not bought
Congrats on being a negative .
“SPAM will get us 50!”
Anyway, meaningless streak.
But let be honest here. 50 wins dissapeared as soon as 12:01 happened. An eye for an eye . Injuries are a risk that should be always taken into account. So don’t quote me “because Kawhi and Gay”.
LMA wanted that Portland feel. 45 wins and a 7th seed is his territory.
this
a team should be the portrait of your leader, so ...
2015 team had Duncan playing at a high level most of the season.
2018 team has Kawhi only playing 9 games so far.
They have the same record.
So if Kawhi comes back 100% healthy I think this team should outperform the 2015 team.
