Dumb ass teacher/principal - nothing like deterring a gifted kid from expanding his mind. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if he had a higher IQ than the teacher that sent him to the principal.

Eh, I really don't have a problem with making sure it's not a bomb and even calling the cops. I have a problem though with the arrest and the three day suspension.

It's my perception/opinion at this point that this arrest was based on Bible belt Islamophobia because it's in the Bible belt and this kid has a name that allegedly made the cops say "of course it was him".

If you asked me to make a list of top public concerns about Irving ISD, indoctrinating its students into Islam wouldn’t be on it. This is a school board whose chambers are currently festooned with wreaths and jingle bells, and which kicked off its last meeting with a prayer “in Jesus’ name.”

And yet at yesterday afternoon’s work session, the first item after that opening prayer was a half-hour report on whether Irving’s curriculum is too pro-Islam.......
