I agree they could have done better but I think ppl really are missing the point regarding the connection to Texas for global fans.
it looks like they gave texas an assholė

New logos are great if you have no tradition.
However, the only thing this team literally still has is tradition.
all are gross
the texas one is the least bad
Nah, they're all fine.
But why are they needed?
(The Clippers actually needed a new logo when Ballmer took over.)
Texas pride is corny as .
What the ? Those are awful.
Heavy early 2000s vibe from these. Looks like the type of you would see on someone's geocities page.
even worse than those dumb fiesta colors. We already have a cool logo and black and white colors, that is enough.
Good to see my toddler won the contest. I’ll try to have him improve his drawing ability for next year’s jersey
Add some color in one of those.
terrible lol. They should've made one with the mexican flag since they want to play games there
I like black basketball one. Clean, modern.
Others are pretty bad. i get they’re trying to be more global, etc., but the Texas one actually does the opposite (it’s more provincial). The last one just sucks.
The Spurs need to add the Alamo background design signifying the city behind the Spur logo not the entire state.
Spurs have an international fan base. I support SA, not Texas. I'm not from America and don't know what Texas map looks like. I have no desire to wear a Texas ing jersey logo.
From the arena music to the PA announcers to the alt kits to these haphazard logos. What a track record the business ops side has.
Michael Dell at least bring back the cheerleaders. Throw a bone
Those are freaking awful.
Fair enough but for us yanks the Texas state silhouette is instantly the most recognizable and frequently brandished among the 48 states.
The artist they hired probably would’ve mangled a Colorado or a Wyoming crest if this Spurs ‘attempt’ is any indication
Them shoehorning Texas into all three logos really makes you think they're laying some foundation for a possible Austin move. If San Antonio isn't going to build them a new arena might as well look at Austin where they'd sell more luxury boxes.
i do understand that, but TEXANS love their weird shape since it's unique in the country. i mean you get tortilla chips in the shape from the grocery or belt buckles. i think they put the emblem on special editions of trucks too. you see it as much as the flag really. San Antonio is also the 4rth biggest city in the state so they need to act regionally to catch up to larger markets like Houston and Dallas.
Curious where you are from?
San Antonio is awesome. Texas? Not so much.
Minimalism and the use of neutral colors has been the Spurs' design philosophy in recent decades. I like it personally. I feel like it gives the brand more class.
When I opened this post and looked and notes my initial reaction- I wondered how the rest of this crew would think cause I do not always agree with uni choices.
I am relieved that I am not the only one who thinks this is an abomination
