I meant in the near future though. George played in SA for most of his career so it's understandable. I'm hoping Kawhi will stay with us long enough to have his jersey retired here. He's been my favorite player for the last couple of years.

    He's close.

It would be hard to say no given the FMVP.

But the spurs have to start raising the bar for jersey retirement. I mean, Avery Johnson was great in 1999, but they need to narrow it down to franchise superstars at this point or they'll run out of numbers to retire...

At the end of the Big 3 era there will be at least 10 jerseys in the rafters; 11 if you count Kawhi.

    00, 2, 6, 9, 12, 13, 20, 21, 32, 44, 50

The Lakers have 9 dudes in the rafters after winning a lot more les. The Celtics have 21 dudes in the rafters (soon to be 23-24?) which is obscene.

That jersey will never go up, mainly because he stole $19M from the franchise. Power plays can get you what you want in the short term, but they come at a cost.

Player fanboys are worthless. As soon as the player starts to decline they disappear into the bush like Homer Simpson. It is the pinnacle way to be fair weather bandwagon fan. I saw all those Lebron fluffers disappear last year.
