Johnny Knox will have surgery Monday to stabilize a vertebra in his back.
Knox is obviously done for the season. The good news is that the early prognosis on his career and quality of life is positive despite the scary injury. Earl Bennett, Roy Williams and Dane Sanzenbacher will finish out the year as the Bears' top-three wideouts. Knox's third season ends with 37 catches for 727 yards and two touchdowns in 14 games.
That was scary looking! I hate seeing that happen. Hopefully he'll be OK eventually.
Well, at least this should give Sam Hurd some reps.
As someone who had a college football career ended by a neck injury, I hope Johnny Knox makes a rapid and complete recovery.
This sucks. I went to school with Johnny at ACU. He is a standup guy. Truly sad. Hopefully he can fully recover.
I watched that game and I thought he would be paralyzed from the waist down when I saw the injury. Glad to see that it looks like he'll be okay.
