I feel bad for Rudy. Guy can barely move and seems to decline by the week but our depth is so bad at the 3/4 position he almost has to play. Got to be the worst in the league. At least try Dieng at this point, can't be worse than this. It would be bball malpractice to bring him back so I fully expect a 3 year 30 million contract at 12:01am the day FA begins lol

So is safe to say that Eubanks has won the backup center role over Dieng?

Yay, the Spurs beat a cripple!

Well, it’s better than losing to one.

Looks like it. But to Dieng's credit he looks like an excellent teammate. Always giving the younger guys advice and cheering everyone on.

Roster is fine imo. Pop's rotations and schemes are the problem.

Dieng could still be struggling with the shoulder, too. Otherwise I feel like Pop would be throwing him some garbage time minutes at least to learn the plays.

With San Antonio's win over Detroit, both the Houston Rockets and the Minnesota Timberwolves are eliminated from playoff contention. Houston's streak of 8 straight playoff appearances was the longest active streak in the NBA.

White not even 100% yet and still playing pretty well...Could there yet be another level we haven’t seen?

It has obvious flaws, but it's good enough to make the playoffs. Put a legit superstar on it and this team could contend. Unfortunately, the only way they get one is by tanking.

Not getting my hopes up high about him since he's injury prone.

Its fun not having to watch DDR and Patty. Also really did not miss DJM. Piston team is not so good though. Rudy was kind of creaky. He needs some oil in them joints.
One game closer to Pop record and hopefully his retirement

Poeltl's free throw shot looks sosooooooo much better. Actually getting the right spin on it, which provides touch. Next step would be to use his off hand to steady the shot, but he doesn't even do that on his push shots. But damn has the work suddenly showed.

And Tre looks like he belongs out there. He's not lost.

Boris Diaw mentioned this on his podcast on The Ringer: https://www.spurstalk.com/forums/sho...5#post10488235

He talked a bit about his time in Charlotte, and how they were just losing games and didn't have any direction. As one of the veterans on the team, h e spoke up against it, and got buried on the bench then forced a buy-out.

Players want to win. These guys aren't actors...they go out there to try to win whether you are in 1st place or 30th. It's the same whether you are playing a game of Connect 4 or NBA basketball...losing sucks.

You can't just tell a bunch of people who have dedicated their lives to playing basketball at the highest level to go out there and lose on purpose. And if you do, you are breeding a terrible culture and reputation.

Yes, there are other ways to tank that come at the coaching level....but I don't think it sits well with compe ive players and honestly doesn't sit well with fans of the product, either.

That's why Pop can't just simply bench his veterans...DeMar, Gay, Patty. Sends a terrible message to the team and the rest of the league.
Counter to your point, the Spurs would probably WIN more games by benching Demar and the vets. As much as the vets hate to admit it, they're the problem with the team.
