Bottom line Cubes went all in on Luka and dumped Dsjr, Matthews and empty stats Jordan even if they have to overpay KP still a win hopefully he don't stay injured or diminished like Parsons or Matthews.
Irony of it all they punted on Nash to early because they worried about his back but paid top dollar for damaged goods ever since, smh
yeah but a lot of that was post-2011 when Cubes was trying to make the team as compe ive as possible (overpaying for B- type talent instead of rebuilding) in return for Dirk's loyalty/championship run. This move isn't anything like those others, considering KP has an entire career potentially ahead of him

Great trade for Dallas. You get a whole season worth of time to see if you landed a home run before committing big money. If not, you still have Luka to build around.

the "if not" scenario is pretty terrible. they took on a horrible contract, one of their only young pieces, and 2 first round picks tbh. that makes it absurdly difficult to build around luka anytime soon

If Luka becomes the player he's projected to be they should be able to build around him on free agency. Players would find interesting to join him.

You can always buy out or trade the bad contracts.

I'm not buying that one, unfortunately. Dullass never landed any big fish through free agency during Dirk's entire career, so I don't see why it would change now. Especially with this trend of all these superstars holding out to play in NY or LA. Which is why I think this is the best move they could possibly make...taking a chance on a guy who's injured but has legitimate superstar potential

Same old Knicks. People are hyping up the cap space they have now, but who's seriously going to sign there when they have nothing to offer?
    Hmmm... THJ, Noah.

Texas roadtrip about to be guaranteed 0-3 for 20 other teams in 2019-20. Who would've thought two seasons away from a WCF finish, the Rox are about to become the weakest Texan team with CP0's body steadily declining.

This is a very risky move by Mavs. Porzingis looks injury prone and they give up all those picks. They could look like geniuses in couple years or like complete idiots.
