Exactly. This is the worst Olympic team since 2004. Like the boredom that set in then, the top players just aren’t interested.

Scored 0 points while Duncan carried him to 5 as well, yet some delusional people think he's the greatest and was the main cog

Devin Booker is either done for the year and needs a break or was extremely jet lagged, or some combination of both.

USA with little prep time has to establish a pecking order that doesn’t exist yet. France looked organized and had a clear order of operations offensively. USA still had a chance to tie or take the lead with 20 seconds left and missed 4 wide open 3s. Bad late game execution, bad defense in the third and a lack of energy let France open up a lead.

Could be another 2004 brewing. Too many non defenders and not enough guys to do the dirty work.

CIA Pop lost it for Tony; he is the ultimate teammate for his real guys!!! We all know he has some socialist interests and loves French wine. I’m sure this loss checked a ton of boxes.

    JK.

Basketball is a team sport so this loss should not have surprised anyone. Team USA will still probably gold given their talent which is about to get better but hopefully this is a kick in the ass for them. Pop’s legacy is slipping every game he coaches however and the Super Team narrative continues to take L’s as LBJ transitions to Hollywood megastar!

That explains the Spurs for the last two years. His own NBA team was only second priority to him.

This is what happens when other countries stress real basketball and the US players can’t get passed wanting to play video game ball.

Pop should've expected this with players coming in and others dropping out of the team the last few days, players incorporated in the last minute, no actual big to speak of(Javale McGee, lol). They are not a team at this moment and time, far from it.
And something else, Draymond Green still living in the past, he has regressed to scrub status.

dont worry so much. USA wil defeat Iran by 40 and everything will be alright. Even with this loss, i wouldnt panic. USA still has the best players and other teams are not really that great. Spain and Argentina are old, Australia will have to bet on Mills to be in God mode and i dont think USA will be shooting 35% again.

Pop does suck tho, its been years since he was a good coach. Right now probably in the worst 10 coaches in the league.

Like I was saying in the other thread, playing a poor defender like Booker with the US up by 7 with three minutes to go was giving me Bryn Forbes flashbacks.

The loss is irrelevant. It's the lessons we learn playing against other sapiens and the congratulations we give when they kick your ass. As long as we value the human relationship and treat everyone as equals, winning a basketball game is the last thing on our mind when people are suffering every day. I think forfeiting and going back home is appropriate to show the world what kind of fiber we're made out of.
