Well it's still mathematically possible, lol.
I understand letting a scrub shoot from distance. But Finney-Smith is shooting something like 38% from 3P this season. The Spurs didn't even move toward him. But that's not the point. A guy shooting 38% for a season is going to make a pretty high percentage if he's just left uncovered. But they still miss. White missing an open 3 isn't exactly an indictment on his career.
If the rotation would be
White/Walker/DeRozan/Lyles/Aldridge
Murray/Mills/Johnson/Gay/Poeltl
this team would easily be the 8th seed if not better

This team would be in the playoffs if it didn’t lay absolute duds against some of the worst teams in the league. 11-19 against teams over .500 which is more wins than any other non-playoff team in the west, and more than OKC, Memphis and Dallas (granted two of those teams have had less opportunities as they themselves are over .500)
Their downfall has been against bad teams. 16-17 against sub-.500 when every playoff team in the West has at least 24 wins, and the teams they’re competing with are all at 19+.
This falls squarely on coaching and rotations.
We take care of the Mavs without Walker and Murray (yes Aldridge is back) but can't win games against the Nets and Cavs to keep our playoff hopes alive. So frustrating.
Why are these dumbasses winning games NOW? It's so ing annoying when they know they aren't making the playoffs.
Agree. I'll tell you that Forbes and Belli can split the minutes with Mills as a second unit 3 point shooters with bad defense...in that role they could be somehow useful, at least in the games when their shoot is going in...
Games? It's one game...also to the idiots saying 8f this is the team we had we would have been good...we were still losing games with white starting earlier this season...have we forgotten? Also we have won games vs good teams with Murray starting... Murray/white starting isn't the problem...neither of them move the needle enough to transform a lottery team into a playoff team...the problem is we have two emotional fake stars that aren't winner's...don't overblow this win...trash teams beat good teams every now and then...when a team like the Cavs beat a team like the Lakers, we don't all of a sudden think the Cavs are actually good...we look at it as being more about the Lakers letting their guard down or having an off night...Mavs would probably sweep us in the playoffs
