He didn't have much help that series. Matthews tore his achilles late in the season so he was out, then Afflalo strained his shoulder late in the season, he came back in the 3rd playoff game but made almost no impact at all. Batum has really fallen off too, I think most Spurs fans remember him as one of the premier SF's in the league, but damn he is a s of his former self:

From what I read from POR fans it was mostly poor guard play, guys refusing to shoot the ball, allowing Memphis to hone in on LA and force him into tough shots.
