The big question is whether McConnell will allow the vote.
That should get it to 50. So if no other Republican votes for it it would be on Pence to kill it.
The big question is whether McConnell will allow the vote.
Well he said he would, and you know how much his word is worth
Has Manchin given any indication what he'll do?
Can't see him voting against. What broke-ass WVa voter is going to be mad at him for (1) agreeing with Trump and (2) giving them money?
It's so easy to imagine that guy jumping the fence.
Crazy how just a few weeks ago they were against $600 payments.
Most of the time yes, but WVa voters don't give a about McConnell and love Trump so in one of the rare times they disagree I'd expect him to side with the Dear Leader. It's a no-brainer to side with both the Trump base and his Democratic base voting for the $2000. I mean how many Romney Republicans do you think there are in West Va?
according to Chris this is bribing voters, right?
It's also socialism. Nikki Haley says this sort of thing mainstreams it.
I read you need 60 from the Washington Post.

Hawley and Rubio also saying they’ll vote yes.
Mitch just blocked it. Making noises about Section 230 and election fraud.
Sanders objected to voting on the NDAA. He can drag things out until New Year's Day, but that's all.
?
thats referring to the vote to override Trump's veto on the other bill. bernie said he will filibuster those attempts unless the $2000 bill is voted on. the 60 votes they are referencing is what mitch would need to end bernie's filibuster and bring the other bill up to a vote instead of the $2000 bill
If Mitch indeed killed it, Democrats need to jump on GA hard explaining the only way to get more aid is to get rid of demon turtle.
This is the Democrats we're talking about though
Worst move of his career, tbh. Will likely cost the Republicans the senate, imo.
It's insane that one person that most of the country has no opportunity to vote for/against has the power to prevent legislation from even going to a vote.
Few have done more to hurt fellow Americans than Moscow "Cocaine" Mitch the McConnell and the people of Kentucky who continue to vote him in.
If so, he'll cease being the most powerful Speaker in history and go cry on his wife's big pile of money.
so to be clear, the president has asked for 2k checks. the house passed the bill for 2k checks (including 40+ republicans), the bill for 2k checks has bipartisan support in the senate (the 2 GA republicans, rubio, and hawley have all said they support it).
and mitch single handedly shuts the whole thing down? wtf
Underscores yet again the GOP's anti-democratic/authoritarian will to power.
Biden may not be alone in dealing with cognitive decline, tbh.
