I've never met one person ever that went to a lake to exercise.

I'm also in SA north side probably 30 minutes from a lake or river.

Not sure poor people can walk to the closest lake or community pool here. Our park system here really blows. Austin is much better about that.
DarrinMC will start talking about his zip code too any minute now.

    Clueless comparison.

Yeah they walked from South America spending their life savings and then getting preyed upon by all sorts of goons on the way up.
Oh and some came by truck loaded up. It did not end well. But yeah, it was easy to get here. So lets compare this to those of us who are lucky enough to get easily to a body of water for exercise and cooling off...

Neither party cares for it in the US.
Immigration reform is an ongoing problem that neither party really talks that much about anymore because that would be construed as trying to get something done.

10798218[/URL]]And people exercise at lakes a lot. Im sitting on the back porch watching skiers, wake boarders and jet skiers go by. Also the random kayaker or paddle boarder. I also have a seacycle that is great exercise.

Access is one thing, time is another.
Kids can go play in the sprinkler system on watering day. That’s fun.
Im just really saying I got access to lap swimming or playing around and an hour and a half or so as a part of work.
I think it’s healthy activity but I understand not everyone has this luxury.
People who work physically taxing jobs outside all day usually are not in for exercise after work, and can’t during work.
Those jobs outdoors also do not do a good job from a healthy exercise point of view imo. Because I have done them. We had an exchange concerning wire fences on this.

If you really want to know my opinion, it's a moot discussion. As much as people understand swimming is great exercise, most don't do it even with the means. I've probably used our pool 5 or 6 times this year. And none of it was for swimming laps. Sure a couple times I did go down and back but for the most part, I just sat in the water with a beer.

As to outside jobs, it depends on what it is. But in general, being outside, moving around, sweating...that's pretty beneficial. Even if it's not necessarily aerobic.

Me : "oh hey, nice place. thanks for inviting me."
CC lets me know how much everything cost including property, house, JetSkis, craft beer, his bathing suit. Also shows me a wad of cash he made by flipping a 1985 Camero.

    Yeah...sounds like a blast.

They actually do have group triathlete swims at Boerne lake which is sort of "close" time wise. Its good for open swims such as one might encounter in these contests.
But again it costs money to get in, it costs money to join the group, and if your job is not flexible the hours may be out of possibility in your daily life.
And honestly, people who train for these things have to have a super strict schedule and time.
Season pass to Boerne lake is only $125 per vehicle. It's not a good lake to just go splash around in like Blake wants to do. Most of the time I go after working out at the gym and swim from the boat ramp to the point on the right and back, which is the half mile route. Sometimes if it's calm enough and I'm not too tired from the gym, I'll just do boat ramp straight across the lake and back which is the 1 mile route.
