Great news tbh. They probably have something in the works and just putting the finishing touches.

As long as they don't take any long-term money back, it's all good. But knowing this FO's recent trading history, I'm still terrified
They're gonna end up buying him out. He'll be generous and give back $10.

They'll get an expiring and future second and that will be it.
    Works for me tbh.

will still overall look back fondly at LMA's tenure with the spurs. even up until last year, his defense was surprisingly good. and yeah, a premier FA chose the spurs, thats always a big deal. but his game fell off a cliff, and i always thought he was the kind of guy that would age a lot more gracefully.

it was definitely time. just wish they moved him during the draft when he would have had more value

I don’t care what he did on those two seasons for the Spurs when Nephew left. He was never a winner. And his #12 definitely should not go on the rafters. It was always Bowen’s. Good riddance.
This...dude pouted his entire time here...made it difficult to root for him

It’s not a good look for the Spurs first KY and now LMA not even going to mention Bertrand and the Morris deal

Nephew is the biggest cancer of all time. Aldridge has always been a loser and stats first guy and quit on Portland once only to come crying back to them again. Morris has always been a knucklehead. Not the Spurs fault other than they showed poor judgement in trusting these guys.

Lma is done with sa. Lets be grateful if the spurs can still move his ass for anything of value

Miami has a ton of expiring contracts. They could easily do a swap of expirings (with the Spurs cutting all of them) for Aldridge that saves the Spurs a few million, giving them breathing room under the tax. Miami is $6M away from the tax itself so the salary disparity can't be too big, but there's some room for a deal there.

They want to make the playoffs, and they likely will miss, or just squeeze in with Rozier and the kiddies. They’ve wanted DD for a while. He can probably get them into the top 4-5 in the East. They’re not liking to contend, just show well.
DeRozan isn't altering their ceiling and may in fact make them worse due to being a poorer fit.

Lukas is the happiest person on earth right now about LA’s news.
Lol, Luka proceeded not to play even 2 minutes the first game LMA is out. Let's hope the trend changes, he was showing some good stuff those games pre-AS break.

We can only take two contracts in a one player deal. You can’t just have 16 or 18 players under contract, and then cut some to make 15. You can never have more than 15 players on your NBA roster for any reason. Not even with the intent of cutting some. Not even for one second.

We can actually take two more back than we send out if we are taking back just over $4 million in salary less than we're sending out by releasing Lyles just before we file the trade. (I'm not saying we should do that...just noting that we can)

They’ll need the entire roster to get through this second half schedule. He may not play regular minutes, but he’ll play. They’ll start swapping out 3-4 guys from the rotation for back to backs, and rest games..
