Here's what the cops will do they'll walk towards people filming them i.e. they are 10 feet but a cop will just walk 3 feet towards them. Also they'll tell passengers to stop filming them because its "interfering with their police action"Exceptions were made for people at the center of an interaction with police, anyone standing in an enclosed structure on private property where police activity was occurring and occupants of a vehicle stopped by police as long as recording in those instances didn't interfere with police actions.
An absolute flagrant violation of the first amendment, but none of the board republicans will care.
Thin Blue Line
8 feet seems reasonable. I could see a few idiots trying to get up close interfering with an arrest
The 9th circuit will gut that law and doubtful that SCOTUS will overturn them.
How would you like a 12-incher?
Maybe. Looks like they were gonna try 15 feet at first but seemed to feel that 8 feet would be the right distance to get by the 1st amendment
The 8 feet rule wouldn't even be a big deal except for the part trainwreck described where the cops walk towards the person with the camera so there's no longer 8 feet of distance.
I agree
The cop job is to protect the filmer and the person getting the free food
Can not the criminal be moving trying to get away
Do you think the cop will try to let criminal run as far as possible especially if he, she, it. Is using knife on people
It'd be nice to have that exception explicitly implied but I'd bet the court would side with the photographer if that were found to be the case.
And it's not like they're gonna be walking around with 8 foot measuring sticks.
Huh? Do you live close to Los Alamos, NM by any chance?
i hope dumbass democrats test this rule and try to invade 8 feet on cops and see what happens,,,,
A misdemeanor
Then Texas will do a copycat law that the 5th circuit will affirm in full.
so they're going to infringe on my 1st amendment rights basically.
The framers didn't know cameras would be invented so isn't the 1st Amendment basically outdated? Do you really need an automatic shutter?
On the surface it seems like it, but honestly, I think the 8 foot rule should apply to everyone unless consent is given.
the cons ution is outdated unless 2nd amendment, huh
You can move to another state. I hear Chicago is poppin right now homey.
You can still catch pigs mauling ppl at 8 foot so not a huge loss. Problem is the pigs can advance and advance and shorten the distance.
I won5 be going to Assholezona anytime soon
BoR isn't outdated, the left introduced the concept that it is. Don't choke on the sandwich.
I won't be going around looking for cops to film in any state
