Seriouslyas happy as most were to see DDR, LMA, Patty and Gay leave they all wanted out.

Not even Mills wanted to stay and he probably had twice the money he got from BK on the table.
Nah those guys left because they are obviously not part of the rebuilding (and I’m sure told), and wanted to go where they are still valued. It’s not the same thing. Likewise Tony wanted to rather go to CHA for a more dominant role. The only one player I know in recent memory who really wanted out was nephew (and weak ass LMA who couldn’t take the pressure). I think even Boban wanted to stay and Pop had to put sense into him to take the money.

My point, the Spurs are always there for their players and they appreciate it. This punk is butthurt about something. I suspect he knew the Spurs (BW) would not be offering him the max and was candid to him. I’m sure it’s BW who doesn’t see him as a franchise player to build around nor a leader to follow. I pointed before how much different with White feeling rejected after knowing he was traded. The guy wanted so much to stay. In retrospect, Spurs could have kept him for vet in the locker room, but then again that trade resulted to Wesley. Still back then I wander if PATFO knew they would soon be losing DJ and still traded Derrick, or not and they chose to build around DJ.

Goddamn DJ’s such a drama Queen. Loved him when he was here but it’s time to move. For both parties.

    Hey Kawhi and Dejounte too

The only thing maybe is DJ let the Spurs worked a good haul for him, and even played he didn’t know what was going on. That most Spurs fans could appreciate.

This is amazing. Yeahhhh the Spurs weren’t loyal. They couldn’t promise a max contract in 2 years. They’re also in no position to risk losing Murray for nothing. This is professional sports NOT a family. Breaking News. Look at the Budding Roses camp counselor Bryan’s tweet. He was probably expected to show up to work on time and not take frequent breaks to check his cellphone. And when he wasn’t doing that they were mean to him and he was oppressed just like Murray.

The Hawks are . Their fan base doesn't even support them. DJ is talking trash to nobodies on the internet, that is funny. I thought he enjoyed his time with the Spurs and was happy and grateful that they traded him to his desired destination. I so no reason why he is salty as .

I am happy to see him gone, if he is going to behave like this over a few keyboard cowboys.

I think they clearly discussed the new contract coming up in 2024 and clearly didn’t want to pay him the max which is the right decision. Still there‘s definitely something wrong behind the scenes in the organization
Because they wouldn’t pay this clown? Terrible investment…… he’s not even the best pg in his division Let Atlanta pay that dude!

Damn at this point homie should just say his piece and let it be or just stfu but this is pretty weak tbh. I'm not mad at this dude, but this isn't a good look. DMJ would have been loved by Spurs fans forever but he's decided to kinda that up and thats sad.

Just that Spurs are a top notch organization top to bottom, and known in the league to take care of their players best interest. So something like this is the least disappointing, especially from a homegrown picked at 29th, who would’ve probably been out of the league if were picked by Sacramento or Orlando.

The more Murray talks the more it is obvious the Spurs made the right decision. He will implode like so many before him.

They aren't top notch anymore. That should be pretty clear, but sniffers here still want to blame everybody else but PATFO. Then when you say they ed up right here, the response is "do you expect them to get it right all the time?". If they are top notch then yes. If Pop is the GOAT coach then yeah he shouldn't lose series with dumbass coaching mistakes. So obviously they are more average than great

In the end, DJ will belatedly realize how well the Spurs set the table for his development and progress. Right now,he’s on another team, and I don’t follow other team’s players jibber jabber. Just don’t care.

I’m not talking about Spurs record right now. Top notch as far as doing players solid. That hasn’t changed despite the abysmal record. There is no reason DJ should be salty when the Spurs landed him to pair with Trae, which is what he liked. The organization helped fixed his shooting, his handles. Bruh the guy was immature and 29th pick. There was a reason why some teams didn’t want to touch him, but Spurs looked passed that. In retrospect maybe they shouldn’t and probably a red flag. I haven’t checked who they could’ve invested instead. But that’s worthy of another thread.

My point, Spurs did this guy solid, and no reason he’s dissing the organization. ing ingrate

Brogdon, VanFleet, Caruso. Any of those guys would’ve been better in hindsight.

I was pretty excited when this trade went through for DJM, so I’m not too bent out of shape over this. I think it’s a bummer for sure that he acts this way but it’s definitely a pattern. I was thinking about trading him last summer and I think someone on the board wisely said let’s just give it one more year when his value goes up higher, so I think this worked out somewhat perfectly to be honest. His emotional dysregulation was always going to be there. He was always one tweet away from things falling apart, and eventually I guess it did.

Not to get too Machiavellian here, but maybe he implodes in Atlanta and that helps with our draft picks. That would be hilarious.

None of those guys would have gotten us a bag of picks like we got from DJ. None of them would have made us appreciably better than we were and are.

With all this drama and bs, you would think he's a top 10 player. Newsflash, he's not. If in the course of on season he can prove all of us wrong and become a top level all star, then he made the right decision in complaining. If he doesn't, well we can give him the big finger when shows up next season and we'll actually know who made the right decision. In the meantime he's just acting like a little . Dude you're not 13 any more, you've been paid millions to play a game. Grow up and go on vacation to Europe or something and just let go of that phone for a while, its only making things look worse. Then go practice your shooting. You'll need to get a lot better if you want to remain an "all Star".

they also all wanted to leave
And? I've been critical of the organization's "culture" ad nauseam, but that has nothing to do with what I was saying here.

most sensitive fanbase in the entire NBA tbh
Nah, Craptors got that on lock.

Spurs fans have a right to be though, considering the relative lack of respect/backhanded compliments the organization's recent past receives and the fact that every prominent player (as well as some role players from the past) since not only hasn't wanted to be here, but most slang mud on their way out.

Yup they would’ve been better fit with Demar and White. I’d rather had Caruso/White/Demar.

Anyway, I like our picks now so that’s spilled milk.
