My favorite thing:
When they're over.
Is there something that I should be excited about?
My favorite thing:
When they're over.
Having 2 weeks off.
Oh cmon Jack, if you're gonna cut the cords do it already.
The days leading up to the holidays are a stressful time for me at work.
I do enjoy Christmas eve beginning at 6 and all of Christmas day because it signifies the end of the worst of the madness. Also I am always off from work then.
At the Spurs games, I love it when the Coyote dresses up in his Christmas tree costume.
I also love the Jim Carey version of " The Grinch" because I relate so well to him.
I look forward to seeing the Chipmunks Movie: The Squeakel which comes out December 23rd.
This year, nothing
Probably because I'm single ):
But I usually like the food and seeing certain members of the family.
The day they're over.
Nothing wrong with being single during the holidays. Plenty of other single people to take advantage of. Some are especially vulnerable at this time of year, making them ripe for the picking.
That's all I like about the holidays.
I bet if a thread about, "what is most hated about the holidays" were to be created, it would be quite entertaining.
Being off from Dec 12 till Jan 4
WITH pay ...
Mistletoe FTW
I ing hate the holidays. I hate the crowds of people buying into the commercialization of Christmas. I hate the start of cold weather. I hate Christmas song (especially the ones talking about Jesus Christ being born like the one playing in the building I'm in right now - this song is brutal). I ing HATE Christmas lights and I hate how people make a big deal about the Christmas lights on the River Walk. I mean seriously wtf is the deal with those? They look like some giant re ed went around and throw rows of lights where ever and they make SUCH a big deal over them. Who ing cares that we have thousands of strings of lights that look like they were bought at the Dollar Store hanging all over downtown.
I kinda like New Years though. Its mostly Christmas I hate.
Oh but I love tamales.
Christmas is more popular than Jesus now.
Being with my husband, family, friends and making tamales.
School district?
My favorite thing is watching my favorite movie of all time "Christmas in Connecticut" with Barbara Stanwyck.
I'm pretty much of a Grinch. I like Christmas Day and being with family and food and presents. But I really hate the set up before and the tear down after.
I've never decorated for the holidays since I moved out of my parents' house. Don't plan to, either. Well, I may put up a string of lights in my living room once every couple of years but, other than that, I don't bother with a tree or any of the other stuff. I just don't care enough to bother.
single hot women suddenly get even more depressed and get lonely, making for $$$$$$$$$$$$$ sexy time
Cold Weather.
I love Christmas, and this year will be really fun since we have our 20 m.o. grandson living with us. We've simplified things by just giving money to the grown kids, and buying for the 3 little grand kids. We went to the river walk Sunday, and it was gorgeous. Will be going to the Schlitterbahn light up, and most likely all the Hill Country Trail of Lights.
Yeah, time off is always the best thing about the holidays.
My favorite part?
I've said before, my job is pretty damn lax. Most of the day I am surfing Spurstalk, occasionaly I have to work on a computer issue. I'd say roughly about 75% of the time, I'm being payed to surf here and play video games.
holidays? just about 90% of Southwest Research takes off from work, we still have to be there for network issues and upgrades and stuff, but for the most part we stay at our respective homes, not coming in for work, and get paid for it. We all live about 15 minutes away so if something does come up, we can be right there with none the wiser.
Double-time pay for Holidays while staying at home for the most part? yeah!
Were you married to a chick named Mary???
If so, I think I know you!!!!
Nope. Never been married. I still have goals to attain before I reach that point in my life. I've learned from my married buddies (who are all at least 10 yrs older than me) to take care of what you want before that point . So far I've got my own house and I've got my awesome car. Going to just turn 30 in March.
The last thing I need is a nice fat bank account (nothing major, just something to fall back on just in case) and, if I meet the right woman, a *FAIR* pre-nup. When I say fair, I mean what I own before any marriage is without any doubt mine. Cars, House, bank account and all.
My birthday is my favorite part of the holidays.
