The only thing really pissing me off, is when its a dead ball, the person of the opposing team just tries to shoot the ball and then Lebron or Kobe show off their athleticism by grabbing the ball from the air or blocking it to the stands.
Not necessary.
Dirk isn't American and he's the worst about this in the NBA. It's not just Americans.
I've never seen any other team do it, never seen Germany in action, never seen Dirk do it. But I'd hate him as well about this.
This is perhaps one of the reasons why I dislike KG. I think that's just disrespecting your opponent.
Neither is shooting the ball. Hand it to the ref.
Its instinct to shoot the ball whenever you get a chance to. I dont know about you, but playing a game, its instinct for me to at least see how's my shot going in when its a dead ball.
and its just as instinctive to go after a shot, especially for me...when I played basketball regularly..all I had was defense!
My point is that both, while legal, are unnecessary. One isn't better than the other.
If you're a little bit off with your shot that game, and you just want to see one drop to the net, you shoot it when its a dead ball. That's why when Duncan misses a freethrow he takes the ball, and tries to do a small layup shot near the rim. (I've seen him do this a couple times)
Its to boost up your confidence, or just help you get into a rhythm.
Team USA is BACK bay! We are going to steam-roll our way to Gold once again.
Lebron and Wade are just fantastic. I look forward to watching them play next season. If Dwight Howard could ever develop any semblance of an offensive game he would dominate the NBA.
Nice thumping.
We should have covered our eyes after the game just to mock them.
You have a ing excuse for everything.
I would say James has had the most impact. Don't get me wrong, Wade has been MUCH better than I expected him to be but James is just a force on both ends of the floor. Scoring, rebounding, steals, blocks...his all around ownage is something to behold.
Spain played just horrible. They were missing everything in the second half.
Lebron James is a mother ing beast. I don't care who it is, the man is a tank. I'm assuming everybody saw the sequence where he got bumped then he exploded and slammed with his left hand. Unbelievable.
Lebron > Ducks.
Its not an excuse.
I know why its done but my point stands...it is done after the ball and is not needed. There is nothing wrong with doing it but there is nothing wrong with grabbing the shot or blocking it either.
Suck it world.
The US is back baby![]()
after today.....S.Pain stands for Sphincter Pain....cause the USA just abused their Espana asses prison style......
Next up is Irk and Caveman......I hope we keep our feet on the throats of our opponents.....then Irk can as Kobe how his ass tastes and Kobe can tell Irk..."Like my bratwurst, you Nazi "
Its a good sign that in Team USA's biggest games, they had two of their biggest blowouts. It shows that they are not taking this lightly.
Great win and deinitely a statement game. I just hope they don't get overconfident since they could still meet Spain, Greece and Argentina in the medal rounds.
Funny how this team thrives on defense and yet Colangelo's other creation (the Suns) never play any...
If the US keeps winning by these margins, which is no guarantee, I am sure it won't be long before we hear the "the US is running it up because they are arrogant and showboats and poor sports" card being dropped.
That's why some block the shot during a dead ball. It's to prevent one from getting into a rhythm and going on a hot streak against your team. I see not a damn thing wrong with it. Let's them shoot during the game when it counts for real. That's what pre game warm ups are for.
