We get mad too. Manu should be 100% for the SPURS first and foremost.
Manu should do whatever is right for Manu, period. He is not owned by anyone, he WORKS for the Spurs.

The Spurs took the risk of signing him, they knew he was going to play on the national team, it is a business, they made a business decision that he was worth the risk,

We in Houston, have Yao and Scola playing....again, our organization took the risk, they knew what they are doing.

It is unfortunate if Manu is seriously injured, but if it is just some more inflammation, he will be fine with some rest, and he has plenty of time to rest.

Manu is a dumbass for risking his career for a third world asswipe military dictatorship like Argentina. San Antonio pays his ing bills. I hope Pop will kick the out of him.

Now that was a stupid comment in several levels.

plus getting so see Ginobili play for his country is an honor for me to tell you the truth. he can easily go down as one of the best ever when its all over and i get to sit with my kids and grandkids and tell them how good this man was.

Wow I can't believe how many whiny posters there are here. For pete's sake he's from bloody Argentina so he should do what the he wants. Oh boohoo he played for his country and didn't stay healthy like a good manu should. We're lucky to even have him on the Spurs.

I understand Manus desire to play for his country in the olympics, it may be his last time. But he knew his ankle wasn't healthy so really he has no one to blame but himself with this injury.

This is why I ing ed he is playing.

Now he is hurt and will hurt the team that actually pays him.

    So ing god damn ridiculous.
Our team is doomz already (I keep the faith we can win another le dou). Our FO did jack to imrpove this offseason. All the blames will pin on Manu again but truth be told we miss Sam Presti.

He shouldn't have played one bit. His loyalty to the Spurs showed when Pop and the Spurs urged him not to play and he gave them the perverbial middle finger.
Very disappointed. Our championship hopes hinge on a player so disloyal and injury prone?

That's the sound of window being slammed shut.

Way to go Manu, you selfish prick.

and the ST medical staff have proclaimed their diagnosis, manu is finished. at least this way there is no suspense, and the ST FO can now start making trades and FA offers to replace him...

but hey, look at the bright side fellas- the other 13 players on the spurs roster dont play in any FIBA tournaments, only NBA, so there is no chance they will suffer any injury or personal problem that might possibly cause them to underperform. and if that somehow DID happen, you can always and crucify them here on ST till you feel better.

    Life is wonderful indeed.

No, it's more overreaction if anything. Until we know for sure the extent of his injury and the affect it will have on this season, all we can do is speculate...and some are speculating the worse.

I'm disappointed for him that he couldn't help his team defend their Olympic le. I didn't think Argentina could beat the USA anyway but I think if Manu had played, it might've been a lot closer.

I agree. In situations such as the one regarding Manu's injured ankle it is best to wait until the final report is in before trying to predict what will happen to the Spurs in the regular season and beyond.

you, ducks. If Manu were selfish, he would have sat out one or two games during that Lakers series because of his bum ankle. If he were selfish, he would have just stayed home and let down his whole country.

You are selfish. The guy is hurt and all you could think about is how it's going to affect the Spurs. Ungrateful SOB.

When I saw Manu went down and didn't return in the 2nd half I was not interested to watch the entire game anymore.
I knew they had no chance but a Spur now with the ankle injury? that was so devastating for me. With our new recruits, I was looking forward to a BIG start for the 2008-09 season. But that was what you wanted to see, right? Beat Manu! Beat Manu!

Clearly you can see USA had beaten Argentina but not Manu. And with their All-Star line the led went down to just 6 pts? That was no revenge. Hey I notice that odd smile faded on Melo's face after that that was scary.

Okay despite Kobe's bestselling jersey in China you can still hear the loud boos in the arena. I was surprised. The whole world is not behind you afterall.

SO ARE YOU HAPPY NOW AMERICA?
