Hey I just had a quick question. Apparently the rule for ROMS is that if you own the cartridge, you can download and keep the game for your emulator, legally. does the same hold true for newer games? I bought Guitar Hero 3 (s ed out 80 bucks for it) for PC and I finally got a laptop that can play it. Unfortunately I seem to have lost the game, but I still have the guitar. Would it be unethical and/or illegal to download it online?

I have been leaning towards doing that but I am at a college campus. They monitor universities pretty closely. By 'they' I mean 'the man.'

Sometimes if you have the original box to a program you can download a rescue disc from the site.

Why not just ask someone to download it for you that lives off campus?
