Why does Palin always make sure everyone takes a turn holding her baby when they are on tv? I know this is gay, but its true. First the preggo is holding her, then she grabs her, then she transfers the baby to the other kid. It's like some kind of subliminal republican tactic to explain to america they're just like us.

Tough position to be in, really -- he doesn't follow her rapid subject changes and all of us are talking about Biden being too afraid to address her points.
Well, and this is where I felt that Ifill could have done a better job. When the subject deviated from the question she asked, she did not try to keep the conversation related to her initial subject. She would either ask a follow-up on the unrelated subject being discussed or she would just move on.

Way to play the race card. Is that all you have?

I'm bitter because I'm watching my country that I love fall apart. Bush has done a horrible job as president, and for that he should never be forgiven.

But if you think Obama won't move this country even further down the path to destruction and collective financial insolvency with his socialist platform, you're a ing idiot.

I don't think McCain is the answer, but Obama's an even worse choice, which is why I'm backing McCain. Either way, with the candidates we have we move a little bit closer to that point of no return that once passed means the collapse of this nation as a superpower, and more practically and of concern to me and you, as a great place to live.

All you idiot Obama nuthuggers seem unwilling or unable to recognize the inherent danger in his platform and see his collective body of work (reading his books, looking at the influences on his life, etc.) for what it is.
So let me get this straight....you think McCain is the lesser of two evils? And it hurts because you know things are ed either way, but a little less with your choice? Welcome to my voting life in 2004.

I thought Palin was horrible. When you don't want to answer a question (or don't know an answer), you have to be able to improvise on your feet not just refuse to answer and start rambling about non-related material. I was embarrassed for her for the majority of the debate.
Exactly. You can find a way to start to answer the given question and then steer it into another direction and onto another topic without basically saying- I am not going to answer that. Let me tell you this instead.

The best description I heard was that Sarah Palin had good answers tonight- they just were not answers to the actual questions she was asked.

Republicans eat that up though. She is trying to show that she is a young female maverick just like McCain, and giving us that little cute wink of the eye while she decides to talk about whatever she wants to talk about is supposed to make us like her even more.

They didn't do this under Clinton's tax levels, so why would you assume they would when Obama puts taxes back to those levels?
I'm sorry, I missed the part where Bill was proposing any of the following with a cooperative Congress:

    * higher taxes on our higher income earners to pay for the rest (wealth redistribution, financial socialism)

    * universal health care

    * money back to those who are already paying no taxes come income tax time

    * a load of new funding for a corrupt U.N.

    * higher education for every child

    * oh, and I forgot the middle class tax cut (well, to be fair that will probably end up a broken promise like it was when Clinton ran on it)

Pretty much. You only feel that way in 2004? It goes all the way back to '96 for me. I'm more pissed at both parties for this election than any other one though, because it's clear from what's going on in the world today and in our nation that we need strong leadership.

Instead, we get the far left whacko prince from the 2004 Democratic National Convention that CNN declared would be the Demo candidate in 2008 at that time, but doesn't have a shred of experience, has never taken a stance on an issue until after the outcome had been judged by the public, and hung out with known domestic terrorists growing up.

And he's running against a guy from the "republican" side that is more of a Democrat than Republican, but wasn't a Mormon, so that made him okay to the base.

I think when all is said and done the main thing to come out of this debate will be this: For an hour and a half these 2 candidates had totally different goals and thats going to show. Palin was simply trying to avoid being permanent placement on the political short bus while Biden took the entire hour and a half to attack McCain pretty consistently and relentlessly.

Its kind of like a 16th and 1 seed meeting up in the NCAA tournament. The top seed's goals are to advance and the underdog is simply there to not lose by 30. If the top seed wins then they don't really get much praise because it was what they were supposed to do.

But the top seed moves on. I think while Palin stopped some bleeding tonight, she didn't change the game. The odds were stacked against her being able to do that, but the sad fact is thats what her team needs. They need something to fundementally change the direction of this race and they didn't get that tonight.

You should change your name to Angry Hoopsfan because Obama is going to win this election and it kills you. It kills you that a black man, probably someone you call a n****r in your own house, will be President of this great nation.

Change is coming and there is nothing you can do to stop it. Your party is in shambles and the social conservative agenda will never again resurface for the forseeable future. Your party failed, your ideas failed. America does not want anymore Republican rule.

This actually applies to alot of republicans, but you are being unfair to AHF, and I don't think it applies to him.

AHF--do you really really think that Obama is going to socialize health care and change the bush tax cuts?
Not once in this entire election from the primaries to now have I seriously thought either Obama or Clinton would socialize health care, nor would they repeal the bush tax cuts.
It's like the Republicans using Rowe v Wade to wrangle in all the re s with a 20th century brain that think abortion is actually an issue. No matter how packed the courts get, Rowe v wade will never be overturned. Ever. Ever.

If you really think it comes down to race for me, you can go yourself. Welcome to my ignore list. You choose not to talk points but play some lame ass leftist race card, which is about the weakest I have ever seen on this board.

There isn't going to be change, other than instead of the oil companies getting rich off of us all it's going to be Obama's friends and family, and those allied with Pelosi, Reed, Frank, etc. (i.e., more money for Wall Street).

I'm sorry you're dumb of a human being to get it.

Bush was a ty president, I freely admit that. It doesn't mean Obama should get an opportunity to us over harder.

    Anyway, adios.

I'd like to agree with you and think you're right, but go back and look at what Carter did to this country when he had a liberal Congress to work with.

Our political system is broken, but for the sake of the least suckiness possible we need a split exec/legislative situation. Either Republican in the WH (Bush suckage being the exception...) with Dems in Congress, or a Dem in WH with Republicans in Congress.

One party having all the power leads to complacency and a focus on taking care of the party's donors.

We've never had someone run for office with Obama's socialist views before (Carter came closest), and it took a decade to undo his damage in the 80s. Couple that with Pelosi and Reid running amok in Congress with a filibuster proof majority, and yeah, I worry about all the socialist that will be crammed down our throats.

I don't put any of Obama's plans past him, he pushed for a lot of the same things back in Illinois, and i haven't seen any reason to doubt he wouldn't bring the same thoughts and goals to D.C.

If you think the oil companies have bribed the Republican leadership, just wait until you see the health care lobby in full effect.

I still don't think it will happen. It's a very socialistic, progressive idea for America. Too "controversial" at this point.

Conservatives have a unique and irrational fear of Democrats and all things they perceive to be "liberal". The problem is 9/10 couldn't tell you what "liberals" stand for.

The world will not come to an end if Obama is elected. This country will not become communist or socialist or whatever idiotic notions you conservatives have. Odds are things will get markedly better abroad and here at home in the long run.

It's ridiculous that you actually think that every Republican who opposes Obama does so because of his race. Every post that you write is so DazedandConfused.
