Yeah, running for the second most powerful seat in our American democracy is totally insignificant. Totally.
really
see bush wanted the bailout plan
it has taken almost 2 weeks to get it done
but he had to change everything
congress has ALOT to do with things not the president who is a puppet piece of the time
Yeah, running for the second most powerful seat in our American democracy is totally insignificant. Totally.

Take it up with her...I've been the one saying it wouldn't go that way...and here in this thread I read countless shots on her smile, her personality, her make up...
While Biden is a bigger primadonna than she ever is.
ploto was exactly right and I was exactly wrong.
That's not anger...it's an admission of error.
And Biden talked in circles too many times, he's just much better at it. Plus he's been enacting legislation for 30 years so of course he knows the ins and outs of that...but he doesn't have as much experience at running a government as she does...in fact no one in this race does.
Like I said...people are penalizing her because she's not a politician. I see that as a positive.
And she's got an 85% approval rating and the endorsement of the man she beat for the Governorship...I bet you none of those guys have ever had or ever will have an 85% approval rating...at anything.
She's the best candidate in this election...all experience means with politcians is that they've got Washinton dirt on them and are in bed with countless special interest groups.
She's not.

Well, I, for one, did not say anything about her makeup or smile...
And her personality is totally fine...the "gosh darnits.." cute...
But they didn't hide the fact that she wasn't making sense in most of what was asked and said.
That doesn't mean I want to see her fail in any way. I just don't think she's right for THIS job.
But 85% approval is very impressive, and I applaud her for that...and I hope she can continue down that path in Alaska if they lose this election.
Oh...and I agree with the Biden comment as well.
I don't like him. I think he's slimy. But I had already made up my mind about him.
Tonight, I watched to see how Palin would do. I wanted to hear what she had to say, and I was HOPING to see that those interviews prior to the debate were flukes. I didn't get that.
edit: I am neither a PTA mom, a soccer mom, or a combination of the 2.
I want to also add that, long before this debate, I'd read in numerous places (not here) that she is a master debater.
I did not see evidence of that tonight.
She came out nervous, which was totally fine and understandable..but as the debate went on, I understood why. She seemed to have a few topics down pat, but once the debate deviated from that, she started falling apart.
If she was a debate star, she would have been able to, at least, make it sound like she knew what she was talking about.
And the questions asked were extremely technical something it isn't realistic to expect Palin to have much knowledge of compaed to Biden....so she reverted to her personal experiences and her experiences as Mayor and Governor and as the Head of the Oil and Gas Comission in Alaska.
They asked for detailed answers because they knew Palin would not be able to answer those questions as well as a 5 term Senator would.
She's got as much experience as Clinton, Reagan and Bush...those guys weren't asked for legislative details either.
She did better than Biden did, the nature of the question totally favored Biden as he still lied as much if not more than she did...
Plus she cornered him at least twice..
He lied often about McCain's and Obama's stances on how they voted and of course she couldn't refute that...how the is she supposed to know their voting record on every bit of legislation...
They don't even know that .
Like I said...people are penalizing her beause doesn't lie like a laywer.
American people deserve what they are going to get if they elect two Senator Lawyers to the white house...
I know how Lawyers work...I worked for one for 3 years.
do you think the questions were unfair?
Anyway I'm done arguing about it...vote for who you want.
People that put two lawyers in the whitehouse deserve what they get for doing that.
It seemed as though she could have done that several other times, but didn't, for some reason. Bummer too. I was hoping to see that Pitbull we've been hearing so much about.
Personally, that doesn't bother me.
Unfortunately, I think that's what's going to happen. I have a bad feeling with this election.American people deserve what they are going to get if they elect two Senator Lawyers to the white house...
No but of course Biden is going to know more about voting records and legislation...what makes it ironic is that he provably lied or mistated those answers as much as she did.
Dude is a 30 year Senator who kicked his own ass on the first amendment
That is ing pathetic...
Biden threw up complete bull , but he did it convincingly. That's why people are saying he won this debate.
I thought she won it clearly...in fact I thought she smeared him..then again, I'm not looking for the better liar. And that seems to put me at odds with the rest of the America...who like politicians to be not only liars...but slick and convincing ones.
You think I'm voting for Obama? Ummm..no.
He's far worse, imo, than she could ever be.
People are clearly holding Palin to a standard and expectation of knowledge about 10 times higher than any of these other guys.
Period.
Unfortunately, it comes with the territory of being a female trailblazer, if you will, in a man's world.
Besides SFF...it's not just this thread, it's the polls and the focus groups...men thought she did well and women did not.
I think it's funny that men have more confidence in her than women do.
Women can say that's because they understand women better...but you forget that men understand men and I imagine the men favoring her know clearly how full of Biden is.
She's not the problem in this race...McCain is the problem, she's carrying his ass, he struggled to connect with people makes confusing statements, and he's not leading this fight, she is...and she's doing what she can to fix the confusion and legitimize his stances.
She's the best candidate in this election.
And I'm not saying that because she's attractive, believe me, there are a lot of attractive women that I would never consider voting for...her attractiveness isn't like some Super Model or something...she's not that good looking.
I like that she put herself through school, just like I did.
I like that she IS a real person.
I like that she actually has experience running things, unlike any of the other 3 candidates in this election...she has a record of excellence in running things.
I like that she stays positive and doesn't get into the mudslinging often and when she has to she does it with a smile and grace instead of bitternesss.
But most of all I like that she's a PG that plays on a sprained ankle and hits clutch free throws...in championship games.
I thought she clearly outclassed Biden in this debate...he was boring and unconvincing and came off as a typical politician, and even when the nature of the questions clearly favored his area of knowledge she held her own and actually put him on the defensive a couple of times.
Obama and Biden.
And she's outclassing them...which is why the media is doing everything they can to frame a negative perception of her. They've done to her with regards to editing interviews that they have never done with any other politician in American History.
Did she at one point say Cuba was dangerous?
Gotta watch out for those scary Castro brothers.
I said this a little bit ago, but that Gibson interviewing still bothers me.
I refuse to watch him now, and I enjoyed his version of the evening news before.
I thought he was a very worthy replacement after Jennings' death.
So it's unfortunate I will no longer be watching him.
That Couric interview? I watched it yesterday for the first time. I might need to watch it again.
But I definitely didn't get the same vibe I got when I watched the Gibson intvw.
Fixed. The rest of your post was just word padding.
Sincerely,
Cheney.
Ya Vez...make no mistake about it, this election is Palin VS Obama. McCain's confusing stances are a liability and so are Biden's gaffes. Biden and McCain are the dead weight.
People are tired of their sort of politics and Obama and Palin are seen as the fresh faces , the outsiders...my choice was made on the fact that, well #1 I question Obama's patriotism, but beyond that Obama isn't an outsider and is thoroughly wired into DC politics at every level...while Palin isn't.
IT's funny watching people compare Palin to Cheney and Bush...I doubt she's ever met either one of them and if she has it couldn't have been more than in passing.
I can't speak for anyone else, but I certainly don't think it's Palin v. Obama at all -- nor do I think that it's Palin v. Biden or Palin v. anyone else, really. But it seems silly to minimize the importance of a debate between the running mates, given: (1) Cheney's unprecedented power grabs for the office of Vice President (and the executive, in general); and (2) Palin's unmasked desire to expand that power further.
I'll readily admit that I'm not a fan of the "unitary executive" notion or the ac ulation of power in the executive branch, either from a cons utional or a practical standpoint. That Palin is fairly gung-ho in seeking such an expansion (or at least was willing to voice a desire for such an expansion) strikes me as fairly frightening. And if she's going to voice that desire to enjoy expanded powers as VP, I think she'd damned well better answer some tough questions about what she intendes to do with that power.
What's alarming to me is that a 5 term Senator with a law degree who has been reviewing, interpreting and reinterpreting the consitution in making and enacting legislation since 1972, kicks his own ass on Article One of the Cons ution.
That scares me.
What's his excuse FWDT?
Palin is a great speaker.............hence her being a former news TV anchor......but, in her debate she had NO substance to her answers. Her responses sounded like a beauty pageant answer......not really answering the question directly......but vaguely.
Biden on the other hand was direct in his answers and backed them up with facts......whether it was with figures or instances.
Biden > Palin
just like
Obama > McCain
