    Sam Caplan weighs in on the Petruzelli stand-up scandal:

    Petruzelli’s comments on 104.1 FM in Orlando that he had financial incentive not to take Slice to the ground that led to such a public outcry that officials in Florida launched an investigation into the incident were just the tip of the iceberg, as there also appeared to be more to the story. For instance, separate sources informed Five Ounces of Pain last week that there was also a possibility that a deal had been struck preventing Petruzelli from using “Thai-style kicks on Slice, since he had not prepared for them leading up to the fight.”

    Can you imagine how insane it must be to be Dana right now…

    You have a big show in 4 days and a org just collapsed with about 2 dozen fighters you're interested in. I bet the WEC creates a womens division.

    How is it they knew that he hadn't prepared for thai kicks and why is that a big enough problem to bring up? That implies Bas Rutten had a hand in this.

    King of the Cage, Inc. (“KOTC”) is fully aware of the reports surrounding the financial difficulties of ProElite, Inc. (“PE”) and the reports that PE has filed or may soon file a bankruptcy case. KOTC is currently reviewing and investigating the situation and has determined that no bankruptcy case has yet been filed by PE . Although KOTC is a wholly owned subsidiary of PE, it has maintained its own independent operational structure since its acquisition by PE. While there may be some short term impact on KOTC’s operations, KOTC intends to fulfill all of its existing obligations and to conduct all of its scheduled events. KOTC further intends to resume normal business operations as quickly as possible and to continue to grow its brand as it has for the past 10 years.

    We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
